I got a 9700 pro about a week ago for $270. Its pretty sweet so far. Anyone know how to overclock one of these? Gonna bring it up slowly.

You have a 9700 Pro, and you need to OC? No, Zell, as good a shot as you are, I'd say you need to underclock it, I mean, be fair. ;)

I use Rage3d Tweak. (http://www.rage3d.com/r3dtweak/) Works very nicely.

My feelings on overclocking this card is to only do it if you are playing games where the card is struggling with the graphics. I haven't found any games yet to make the card struggle. If you want to do it for benchmarking that is one thing. I overclocked mine but now have it set back to original clock speeds because I can't tell the difference while playing. No need to heat the card up and possibly cut the life of the card.

YOUR ONE FUNNY GUY PURE... I was wanting to do it just for my benchmark on 3dmark01 and 03. I'll try the Rage one. I've heard the radeonator is good to but I'll go with your rage.

I'm overclocking it slowly now with the Rage and after I only go up a couple mhz, my system stops and goes to this blue screen saying its dumping my physical memory and some error. It does it every time, whats up?

i agree slice and think people are crazy burning out such an expensive and efficient ppiece of hardware. no need to do it with 9700 pro. but what the hell it's your money...goodluck and post your scores

That is bad. Do you have the latest drivers and the latest bios for your motherboard? I have had that happen to me when I overclocked my processer to high but not my graphics card.

The odd thing is that I was only overclocking it a couple mhz. I can't get it much over 280 for the core. God aren't computers a pain in the ass sometimes?! :bandhead: I'll dl the latest bios for my motherboard. Thnx slice

280 for the core is pretty darn high. What is the default core speed?

Now that you mentioned it machine, my core original speed only came at 275!!! Those mofos sold me a damn non pro. 275 is the non pro I think. Pro is a 325 I believe. Good news is i got the overclock to work. Some OC file was locked or something. Got it replaced and I can over clock my card safely up to 330 from what I've noticed so far. The memory only gets up to about 310 though. I got rid of radeonator and rage3d because everytime I tried to turn on AA or other direct x inhancers, i got the blue screen of death. I'm gonna do some good yelling to tech support that I bought my card from!!! But even with a non pro guys, this card kicks ass!!! Recommend greatly!

LOL. FOr some reason I was thinking you were running at 380MHz. I was like wft. I could not get nearly that much out of mine.
