Finally got my card you guys. Was using a GeForce2 for two weeks and wasn't able to make the practices because it was a POS. Can't wait to be back on the market with you guys. Just for reference there is not that big of a difference between a 9700 non pro and 9700 pro. I will run my benchmarks tonight and post them in the morning for you guys to see the difference. I'm just glad I got the real thing and can woop some worldwide ass again! :wootrock:

Party on dude!
The thing about it is, my bro got a 9500 pro and my nephew a 9700 pro.
Stuff may look better, and they had twice the framerate of my geforce3,
but I didn't really notice any of it.... too busy fragging...
but then for something that relies more heavily on the graphics, like
devastation, it should be great...

The results are in guys!

3dMark2001 SE: 9700 non pro @ 10,500 ish - 9700 pro @ 11,028

3dMark03: 9700 non pro @ 3,600 ish - 9700 pro @ 4,205

This is about what I expect from the 3dmark2001 but I was amazed at how much a difference it made in 3dmark03. For a smaller number grade it jumped a lot. Guess it really takes advantage of that Direct X9. The Non pro had clocks of 276 core 270 memory, pro 324 core 310.5 memory. If anyone is thinking of buying a new card in this area any time soon and $50 is not that big of a deal go with the Pro. If you are on a budget the non pro is practicaly the same exact thing. The clocks, being the only difference in the 2, made a little difference in the scores but very very small differences in any games I play.
Theres my shishcabob for you guys. Sex is over rated and my 9700 pro is under rated :P ! see you all back in the game!

Zell,
Where can you clock your card? I have a geforce 4 ti4400 and i'm curious to see how it stacks up against the new one. What, exactly, do those numbers mean? Can you tweak those numbers to improve gaming graphics?

the tests are at http://www.futuremark.com/download/
they have amazing graphics if you have never seen them.

I was wrong about the 9700 & 9700 pro:

"While the 9500 PRO and all cards of the 9700 series feature eight pipes with one texturing unit each, that number was reduced to four in the non-PRO version, adversely affecting gaming performances, especially when using anisotropic filtering."

didn't know that jiminator thnx.

pimp those numbers are given after tests are given on your computer. video games in high detail and low detail are played and the frames per second are all put into some equation to give your computer a number grade. they test your CPU, graphics card, memory, and probably more than that. I even saw my computer give much different scores on a LCD compared to a CRT. If you start overclocking you will get better scores but wont make tooo big of a difference. as you probably guessed these numbers will go up if the graphics detail are lower and the resolution is low. My numbers came from the lowest resolution and no extra detail.
