From Blue's (http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/articles.pl?show=601)

"Unreal Tournament 2004 is the next evolution of the greatest competitive computer game ever created," said Jean-Philippe Agati, senior vice president and general manager of Atari's Los Angeles studio. "The addition of new modes, mods and maps as well as the controllable land-, air- and space-based vehicles, means Unreal fans are getting an entirely new experience featuring devastating vehicular combat and wide scale warfare."

Some of it sounds good, but some sounds like Battle Field 1942 :WTF: and if the release goes anything like UT 2003, you may see it in 2005.

Hate to rain on the parade, but sounds like they're trying to do too much with one game, and when that happens, all the modes of the game suffer. I've played some UT 2k3 servers with vehicals in them and wasn't impressed. UT stands for Unreal Tournament, not space oddessy...

I've been doing alot of research on it and I've managed to get a video of the game in action. I must say its good but if some of you remember Epic and DE saying stuff about putting a selection of space crafts and etc in UT2003 but all we got was one. Well in this one they actually achieved what the really wanted for UT2003. I don't know about everyone but Unreal tournament is about deathmatch fragging and etc and not so much fly around and shoot or drive around for that matter. The game will definitially be a hit without a doubt. I definitially will be making skins, models, and maps for UT2004 so hopefully then I can bring more and more to the game. Although the ideal approach for the game is quite similar to Halo it still keeps the UT style. If I had to choose between UT2004 and Doom 3 we all know what I would choose although I do not know much on the editing possibilities for Doom 3 it will still be a rock solid game with a punch that will definitially open the market for new games to come.

Thanks alot!

I don't know how I'll like the vehicles - certainly for a novelty, but I tend to suck at car games. Now, Descent is another matter - I still think it is one of the all-time great FPS games. Here's a few screenies I found:

maybe I can trade in UT03 for 04. If they are the same, well then maybe I won't.
