I was experimenting with first person today.
I have always found third person to be great, because you can see around corners
and see a lot more.
But with first person (less weapons even) I find that I have
much better aim and control. Any other opinions?

I use both when necessary and it depends on the map and in what location but I do use first person mostly.

No offense to anyone who plays 3rd person... but i just feel that the advantage you get from it is far too great and for me if i use it it feels almost like im cheating.

Again this is just my view you can all play however you want.. but 1st person rocks for me :jammin:

1st all the time.. Every now and then I'll switch back and forth but I....just...can't...manuever my way around in 3rd... :wacko:

I use first person in yodeller, compound, Skulls & Bones, and sometimes in little trouble :jammin:

3rd person in the other maps :rofl:

Sometimes I play have straight desire like I. :wootrock: :wootrock: :wootrock:

3rd for me! I can't seem to get around in 1st. It messes with my vision too much!

In Sam I play in 3rd person view. I see the wall behind me so that I know when to stop walking backwards. Nothing is worse than getting stuck at a wall with someone shooting at you.

:unsure: In UT u can only play in first person view unless the server allows the players to play third person. But third person in UT sux.

I prefer Third person except when on a map like Lost Tomb where i'll set it to FP so it doesn't switch back and forth because the hallways are so tight.

I always use 1st person. I dont like the way it switches back and forth when you back up against walls.

3rd it is better i think for big weapons (cannon, rocketlauncher and laser too)
but 1st i am using when i have medium or light weapons (mini, shotgun etc.)

i agree with JIM....third person is more fun anyway cuz u can actually see who ur playing as&#33;

I use to use 1st but the blood spray sucks so now I&#39;m trying out 3rd and seem to be getting the hang of it.. :wootrock:

I used to use third but alot of people used first and said it was better so I switched.

I recently tried to play in third again but it was terrible. The switching between views was driving me crazy. Strafing and running seemed so slow. The thing that I liked about it is that jumping from ledge to ledge was easier because I could see my feet.

It depends. if i&#39;m in a game with total noobs i use first, cause it helps my aim and i won&#39;t get red screen if they can&#39;t hit me. If i&#39;m playing seasoned people, i use third to not get red screen, and be able to look around corners to save my butt. :P

Both, like SASquatch, i shift, in spam maps like Little trouble and fortress i prefer 3prs, in big maps like
compound and Red station 1 pers. :wave:

I have always stuck to 1st. I agree with Static that the advantage of looking "around" a wall is basically like cheating (just that it&#39;s built into a simple press of the &#39;h&#39; key doesn&#39;t make mean it&#39;s not).

Personally, I think things like that should be disabled in Deathmatch. But that would probably tick some people off that have been playing 3rd person for some time now.

I can always tell when someone is playing 3rd person. I give them the test where I wait a good 5 seconds after I know they saw me coming towards them around a corner. If they pop me just as I come around the corner, they&#39;re using 3rd. (DD....yes....I know you that well :P)

If meant to be in the game, then u can have a hard time call it cheating, basically
u call about 35-40% of the players cheaters.

After getting my start in FPS like Q3/UT,I just can&#39;t seem to make 3rd work for me.I wish Sam would let me change my FOV in multiplayer so I could be on even ground with the 3rd person players.Changing the FOV works fine in single player,but it doesn&#39;t seem to work in DM. :hmmm:

3rd person has only really helped me marginally. The main advantage for me is I don&#39;t get blinded from the blood spray as much in 3rd person as I do in 1st. :thumbs:

When I first started, I played first person. In the begining at Phoenix&#39;s, the game was so strange. I had

the hardest time doing anything. It was the first game I ever played that was a FPS. I was starting to

become pretty good at first person, and then I took a small break. Phoenix said that 3rd person was

best, so I began to use it. Wow, it was difficult, but I stuck with it. Now, first person is impossible. And I

never got good with 3rd :(. BTW, the game is riddled with "cheats," so there is no point naming them.

Some choose to be chivalric, others choose to take advantage of the extra powers the game holds such

as sd.

Well I think that if you bought a FPS game you should play in 1&#39;st and whoever plays in 3&#39;rd are sell outs (no offense) why do you think everyone is so good like DD, and strider DD was always first back in the day and so was strider, i just think First rules all&#33;

but a little 3&#39;rd isnt bad :angel:
