CITY OF HEROES

City of Heroes (COH) is an action hero based MMORPG, for u noobs out there this means that it will support massive online play and u rank up points to use in ur character's skill development (in this case superpowers are the skill that u will improve on) through completing missions and defeating baddies.

The game is set in Paragon City (call it the Metropolis or Gotham City of COH) where an alien species have invaded the once peaceful. The aliens have lowered the superhero popolation in the city, leaving only a handfull to put a stop to their diabolical scheme to take over Paragon City. GASP! This is where u come in!

The game start off with you having to put together your own superhero (key feature of COH), u heard right folks! Instead of dressing up as your favorite hero at home and running around like a maniac through the street claiming that you are the savior of this planet causing your social life to to diminish, u can take off those purple "superhero" tights(we ll know they are ur mom's) and play as you own herro in COH!!

Characted design is not limited to just the appearance of you hero, but you can also set the" type" of hero that u will be. These classed range from a Blaster type (guns projectile weapons) to Defender (healer, sheilds) to Tanker (Incredible Hulk-like hero) Then you will give your hero two powers to start off with (one primary one secondary). For instance if u choose the tanker ur best power choice would probably be super-strength, and a secondary power can allow you to infict the most damage with ur fists (The "Punch" power).

Later as you progress more skill points will be awarded and u can upgrade exsisting powers and gain new ones! In adittion "Flavor Power" will also be awarded, this allows for abilites like flight and teleportation to be used in getting around Paragon. Aftr characted setup is complete you will enter the alien infested city. There you will interact with civilians who will give you missions to carry out and u will talk to other heroes, ur missions will obviously consist of you having to fight baddies, rescue missions, etc. and can be completed via online play with your friends!

The ability to have a sidekick or become a side kick will also be available this way you can milk off your partner for skill points and be his loyal friend in battle! God i cant wait to get this game. Later after the game is in Spring of 2004 expansions will be available and PvP (Player vs Player) combet will be available as well as the ability to play as super villians and driveable vehicles in Paragon City!

Ill have a link to the site and screenoes shortly!!

Yeah, I saw City of Heroes announced waaaaay back in 2001, then I sort of forgot about it again. I've already played Camelot,Asherons Call, Asherons Call : Dark Majesty, Asherons Call 2, Runescape and Anarchy Online as persistant RPG's and saw City of Heroes again with the E3 coverage. I got REALLY interested in the game, and now I', really interested in the game, it looks sweet.

I'm prolly going to go Tanker or Scrapper, or maybe ranged, NOT Healer (boring for me). Most probably a Tank with insanely high defensive skills. Will probly be Natural or Tech/Science based.
