I did a search on Google.com using "serious sam engine.dll" and found a post by someone that was having the same problem. They suggested he update his video card drivers, Too bad he never came back to say if it was fixed or not.

We had exactly the same problem for months. It cost us heaps trying to get it sorted - even bought a new pc to tide us over. It turned out to be a problem with an additional memory stick that we had installed. Once that was removed, we never saw the problem again. We wiped the hard drive and got rid of windows ME and now have windows XP pro.

Hope this helps.
