Hey has anyone had a problem with Sam and your screen going completely black then in a couple seconds it comes back? I was just playing a game right now online and my screen kept going black. :( I have a Visiontek Geforce4 ti4600, with 40.72 drivers. Please help!

I think is has something to do with your vid settings on sam. I had that happen before, and something with opengl or something like that. Another time was becuase I didn't have directx installed on a win98 machine, but with xp, I haven't had to install anything like that.

Hope that helps ya out. If might, might be something to try.

Well I am running XP Pro so I don't think that is it. I am more worried about these drivers burning up my video card. Anyone have this setup?

Thats kinda scary. I have a PNY GF4 Ti-4400 and the damn thing runs hot as hell! And I don't have it over-clocked. I need to take my cover off and blow a fan on it when I play Sam.

Also, the 40.72 drivers gave me problems so I went back to the 30.82 drivers. They work well for me.

Drivers can not ruin a card. And I do not think that it is a thermal problem with your card becuase it would lock up and not come back until a reboot was initiated. Try a different version of drivers and/or reinstalling Sam.

Hi Slice, I'm happy to hear you're playing SAM again. Sorry about your vid problems. I've got the same card, using 98se and have had no problems as of yet. Good luck with your glitch.....oh, I didn't use the new drivers, in case your were wondering.
