Here on Long Island, New York we lost power from 4 to 7 PM. Most of NY is still out. Luckily my neighborhood is back up but they are telling everybody to turn off all appliances. Apparently lightning struck the Mohawk Power Station near Niagra Falls, NY and created a cascade of outages all over the northeast US.
We actually played some good ole Monopoly while the power was out.

I'm about 80-90 miles west of Detroit and we lost power for a minute but it came right back up. But the entire area around us is out. We must be on a seperate grid.
