Hi, It's Pure, bustin into Gold's post. To avoid confusion, I merged the 2 Lanwar posts into 1 topic. Sorry if this confuses anyone, but I thought both posts were the same. Please continue..




Just wanted to say that it was a blast meetin' all of the DS gang that was at Lanwar! :jammin: I wish you guys wouldn't have had to sit way over in BFE the whole event...woulda been sweet if everyone was closer.

Oh and uh....I don't think we'll let smooth lead when we head out at night any more :devil:

ok ok...we always have quotes from the weekend...so here's one that sticks out in my mind for now: Smooth had this crazy kill on someone in the tourney.....stale says "They should burn a church down somewhere for that one!" haha....it was just evil what smooth did on that shot :devil:

oh and I kept hearing about this "PimpDaddy" character....I think he needs to show up for MML3 :cool: :jammin: :wootrock: :drink: :drink: :drink: :thumbs:

YAWN.......(rubbing sleepy eyes)......drinking more coffee.....ahhhhhhh....feel better now. Many thanks to the Gummi clan for making us feel welcome. Thanks to Zero and ole (what's his name) for helping me get my server up and running. The lan party was a buttload of fun. My contacts have a permanent imprint of UT2003 burned into them. Here is one picture taken before they turned the lights out.

Now , after 4 hours of sleep, here's a little run down.
Friday, I arrived at 12:45 at the hotel and enjoyed some relaxation. :angel:

Thundarr and Diss arrived around 4:30, with diss calling me a dork right off the bat :rofl:

Somewhere around 5:30 LaSH and Goober arrived and we went out for dinner before heading out to lanwar to help :rofl: set up. Dinner was a lot of laughs, was great to see everyone gel.

Arived at lanwar around 7:30 and met the Gummi's. Our "help" was setting up a couple of curtains and banners. For doing that, we got in 1 hour early on Sat :jammin: a bargain. We followed it up with drinks at a huge club with the Gummi's and friends. Real sharp club with lots of eye candy. :w00t:

Sat morning arival at Lanwar was site. It only took about 20 min to haul our stuff in and get set up :thumbs: The Lanwar staff did a great job of making it simple. The hall set up is incredible, about 550 gamers, with the servers right in the middle. 2 projectors were set up, both showing huge displays. The main wall was music videos/gaming videos, the second was sports :thumbs: The rows were well spread out, except for the dick heads leaving their crap in the isle :loser: {DS}. altough about as far away from the Gummi's as possible and still in the same room :rofl: had great seats. End of a ilse, witth lots of space bfore the wall and 1/2 of us had nobody behind us either. Thanks for the hook up Burden.

At 11:00 the UT 2003 practice servers were for the tourney that started at 1:30, basically, 14-16 player DM mahem :blink: We took breaks and walked around, meeting people and socializing with the NE clan and Gummis, But everyone seemed to have teir game face on for the tourney. The 64 man tourney started with 8 groups of 8 playng DM with the top 4 of each group advancing to the 1 vs 1 brackets. Chaotic did the best, finishing second in he group and seeded in the top 20. LaSH, Goober and myself also advance to the 1-1 group. All except Chao got levelled in the next round, myself to a unknown, LaSH to Gold Gummi, and Goober to the tourney runner up. Chaotic won his match easilly, but then lost to the tourney winner in the third round. A great showing, IMO.

After the tourney was over, and a few trips to Diss's ride for some :drink: :drink: everyone seamed to relax and the gaming fun started :jammin: The NE clan and Smooth showed us some cool tips for UT 2003, we played some SSSE, UT 99 . Around 9:00pm, we took off on the ride from hell trip, following Smooth (plays far better than he drives) to go out for wings and some laughs :jammin: All in all a great time, special thanks to Gold Gummi for always going out of his way to make us comfortable :thumbs: After we headed back to lanwar, around midnight and gamed until about 2 AM before heading back to the hotel. Sunday morning, we slept late :oooo: :angel: (thanks Goober and laSH for your patience) (yes, LaSH has patience :cool: ) had breakfast and got back to Lanwar around 10:30 and played BR, CTF, Excessive until 2:30, with Goober and LaSH leaving around 1:30.

I have to admitt, the sceene on Sunday was funny. Kids sleeping on the floor, under tables, in chair. Empty bottle of Bawls on towers like trophys for those who gamed all night. Lanwar gave away some great prizes, CPU's, Mobos, fans, Vid Cards. Everyone also got free t-shirts and hats from sponsors :wootrock: :jammin: I give a lot of credit to the Lanwar staff. the event is well run, they stay on top of the kiddies ;) The food is dirt cheap and a good variety , lanwar obviously does not gouge their customers :thumbs: which is rare these days. Seating is comfortable, parking no trouble either.


Lanwar is a great experience, I'm glad we did it. :woohoo: :woohoo:

First off let me say thanks to the GUMMIES. What a great bunch of pepole to be with. You all went out of your way to make sure we had a blast.


For it being my first LANwar. All i got to say to the rest that hasnt been. DAMN are you missing out on some fun. If you EVER get a chance to go,jump on it all. It is diffenetly an exsperiance ever gamer should encounter. You dont know what your missing.


The one big thing that stuk out in my mind. And i found funny as hell was. Everone was seriously gameing from the start until about 9 that night. When we left to go to BW3s i looked around. And it was like every other comp had PORN on it. Hardly noone was gameing at the time,LOL :rofl: . It was a sight to see.


And it was great finally meeting you DISS and THUNDARR. Hope to see you all at another one. Diss keeped us laughing the whole time. As always too it was great seeing CHO and his dad TOMMY agin. And not to forget the NE bunch. Damn has those guys got their sh!t together. Outstanding players and a nice bunch also.

I have to agree with Pure......The Lanwar people were more interested in making sure everything went smooth and that everyone had a good time, then they were at making a huge profit. The food and drinks were being sold mighty cheap.....I bought a bottle of water and a candy bar for $1......Any other place (flea market, football game etc) that would have been $3-$5.
Heck, for $30 you got to play video games for 30 hours straight , and got a free tshirt and beanie. Plus a chance to win some really nice prizes....Definately worth the money.
Being able to see the expressions on everyones face when they got blasted off the map was priceless, and getting to meet some of the people that you play often online was great. There were some really fine people at the games.

First off.. I want to apologize for my driving exhibition to BW3's on Saturday night. That was my mom's Blazer that I hate driving, plus I had no idea how to get there myself hahaha.

As far as "quote of the weekend goes".. upon getting to BW3's.. Diss gets out of the car and goes.. "Smooth is as hard to follow as he is to shoot" hahahaahh

again.. I apologize. I'm MUCH better in MY car going to a place that I know how I get to. :P

As far as the event goes.. I REALLLLY wish I could've hung with DS some more. There were many times that I wanted to come over and chat so I could meet you all, but my girl was there (it was her first time too.. so I didn't wan to just walk off from her.) Didn't have anything to do with not liking you all :P I'll definetly make it a point to talk to you all some more next time. A Chaotic!! We need to play some next Lan! Didn't get to play a single game against you :(

The tourney was the best run yet. We got done EARLY compared to other times. Not only that.. but there was more done in the shorter period of time as well.

I was REAL close to making it to the final 4. I was playing NE|Ono (the guy that works for Digital Extremes.. makers of UT2K3).. he started off 5/-1 or so. Pretty pitiful. I ended up bringing the game back to 5/4 with about 20 seconds left when I picked up the Double Damage. I laid into him with the Minigun and suddenly he killed me with a rocket. He had ONE health left :( That would've taken it into OT. In the end I thouroughly enjoyed the tourney.

Again.. Lanwar is an awesome time and hopefully DS can make it to MML in June. At MML, there is TWICE the number of people and seats, so sitting next to you all should be no problem at all. Plus.. its for FOUR days!!!!

Was awesome to finally put a face with the names online.. look forward to some more gaming! Any cahnce that tomorrow night we can get everyone together for the regular Tuesday night gaming? I'd love to play with you all now that I know your faces :)

Again, was a lot of fun and really great putting names to faces...Dakota, Bright Fury, Jinn...all the Gummi&#39;s that we finally met.

The only funny story that I have is getting put right out in the FFA. Funny like a kick in the slacks... :blink:

Great time guys, ahh, where to start, first off when i got there i didnt know wtf to go..so i called goober :D..when i got there we had to unload alllllll of my crap into the place and i forgot where i sat :-/

Soon as i signed up i seen lash walking out, i was like "LASH&#33;&#33;&#33;", hes like "&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;", not really :P, lol..he told me where to take my shizznickel, and then when practice started i thought "MASSACRE TIME&#33;", got in there and lost 0-36, :P

anyway, everyone was good sports, gummis,{DS}, everyone i played had a good sportsmanship, especially when that song "A&#036;&#036;hole" by Dennis Leery came on and i was half asleep, and pure had got back from Bw3&#39;s and yelled "WAKE UP CHAO&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;" Thanks Pure, we stayed aboput another hour sat night and went home about 1 or 2

Sunday we went to Denny&#39;s where Diss just couldnt live without Hotsauce ;), jk bro :P..got back to Lan and tried to play some people on reg ut and got sizzzlaughtered...in all i had very fun meeting all of yall Pure,All the gummis, LaSH,Stormy, Goob and Diss, very fun guys, and thanks diss for all that shiz you gave me :P, i got your adress f00

Ahhh... I just remembered a funny thing.

When we got there and were setting up, every once in a while they would announce over the intercom that if they haven&#39;t done it already everyone should run a virus check on their computers before they hooked into the lan. They also offered free anti virus softare for those that didn&#39;t have any.
A little later they announced that one guy who said he didn&#39;t have any viruses but ran their software anyway found 8 viruses.....A little later another guy found 12. This went on for several hours as people were setting up and installing the anti virus software.
Nothing like a nasty virus running rampant through a lan network.
The winner of the all time record high of viruses was some poor slob who found over 80 viruses on his computer.

Tip for future lanwars, if you need to use the mens room closest to the lan after 4pm on the first day, you better be able to piss and crap around corners, because unless you like piss on your shoes, don&#39;t walk in there.

LanWar is in Louisville, Kentucky. http://www.lanwar.com has all the info you need to get your seat and get paid before it gets sold out.

Diss, lash, goober, thundaar, pure, chaotic.....glad you guys were able to make it and that you had a good time. As all you guys may or may not know, I work for LanWar and I run their UT2K3 Deathmatch tournament. It&#39;s always good to talk to the guy that owns and organizes the event and saying "hey, the Gummis and I invited some people to the event, and they loved it." :)

You all HAVE to come out to MillionManLAN 3 in June. Four days of gaming, and it&#39;s only like &#036;45. LOTS more room at that venue, and the way things are shaping up, we&#39;ll get over 1,200 gamers at this one. I won&#39;t be able to attend due to my little brother&#39;s wedding, but I&#39;m gonna try to see if I can come down for a day to see everyone.

It was a LOT of fun getting everyone together for the trip to Jillian&#39;s on Friday night, and then hitting BW3&#39;s on Saturday night. I tried Saki (is that how you spell it?) for the first time with Diss, Gold, and Stale, and we swiped the cups...I&#39;ve got mine right here on my computer desk. ;) I would have liked to have talked to everyone at BW3&#39;s on Saturday, but we had something like 50 people there, and it was hard to get everyone together. I got a seat, some food, some Jim Beam, and I got comfy. I&#39;ll try to be a little more sociable next time.

I&#39;m never good at remembering quotes while I&#39;m out partying (for obvious reasons), but my favorite was during the semifinals (i think) of the ut2k3 tourney. NE|jacanuck is playing NE|DogPound on DM-Antalus, and jac runs up against some bug in the terrain along one of the hills, and he screams "FIX THE F&#036;%^ING MAP, TONY&#33;" Tony is NE|ono, the guy from Digital Extremes. THAT quote stuck with me...I was rollin&#39;&#33; Next time we&#39;ll hire a stenographer to follow us around and record everything so we can go back though it later. :P

OK, I think that&#39;s all I&#39;ve got for now. I realized I hadn&#39;t stopped by for a while and I wanted to add my 2 cents to the thread. :)
