nortons wont turn on.

i got norton anti virus 2004 pro. All of a sudden starting from yesterday the auto protect wont start. I tried clicking enable but it doesnt work... please help!

Have you tried uninstall it, and then reinstalling it?

Same thing happend to me, I BOUGHT Norton System Works Pro and installed it, then it would not run after that. I found out that after I formatted my hd, and installed my connection to the internet, that a worm got into my system before I could get Norton in and before I could get the updates from Microsoft.

If you can, get your updates for norton, disable your system restore, and scan your hd. Some of the worms are getting into system restore, but you can't scan it while it is enabled. Good luck

Last year for some reason or other my autoprotect quit working, could not enable it no matter what. Went to the symantec site, did everything they said to do and it still didn't work. Finally reinstalled windows (that sucked) and it fixed the problem. I still have no idea what caused it.

Just before ya format, if you choose to do so, get another HD to move all your documents on to, then scan those before ya put them on another drive.
