Put away those UT2K3's and grab the UT2K4 Demo that comes out today at 3PM EST. Hopefully I can get a copy of it (from some FAST server) and get it going tonight.

It would be awesome if people could post direct links that they find in this thread to help ppl get copies of it I know I always hate waiting in line at File Planet.

i wont be downloading it, and i certainly hope that this doesnt kill the entire ut2k3 scene now that ONLY the demo is out (not that there is a HUGE 2k3 scene)...tons of peeps are gonna leave to play a tiny demo that will probably be much different from the final version (which wont be released for another 3-4months) and no one will play 2k3...same thing happened to UT. i didnt play the demo for 2k3, dont think i will waste my HDD space on this one either

In a way, I agree with red gummi, hope people will not leave 2k3. Not before the arrival of the real 2004.

Originally, UT2004 was not going to break netcode compatibility with UT2003. This is no longer the case. Tim Sweeney explains, "Networking won&#39;t work between UT2003 and UT2004. We had initially planned to support that, but the network code has changed so much in order to reduce bandwidth, support vehicles, and increase performance, that we couldn&#39;t keep the two games network-compatible."
