I can't stop playing Final Fantasy XI. Please. Someone help me. I've always been so-so for MMORPGs like DAOC and such, but FFXI has officially hooked me. It feels like a console FF but online. Anyone else playing?

I want to play it but i havent i love the FF games i was always addicted too :thumbs:

I'll throw up some screens tonight. Some of the nice things are

- Level cap at 75
- 2 jobs at once
- Thousands of quests and a crap load of missions
- 1,000,000 characters playing
- In-game ebay-like auction house
- Actual story
- Date driven events (on Halloween you could do a special task to get a cool staff with a bat on the top. on Chinese New Year monkeys ran around the servers handing out unique items.)

Game cost is $12.95/month with a 30 day free trial. Also there is a $1.00/month charge per additional character. The good part is that you only need one character since you can level up in any job and change anytime you want.

Yes you can play with 56k, but like any game there will be some lag unless you're on broadband.

I'm still not cool with the pay to play, although, obviously, I pay plenty to play the games I do. I'm afraid that if I tried this game, I'd be addicted, too! I used to play D&D with a fervor, but we were limited to once a week, so we filled the rest of the time with planning, discussion, and side actions. I have to really limit myself with my gaming time, and I don't play much Wolfenstein - ET, now - because I always get sucked in for longer than I should.

Now, having written all that, I'm gonna go look at some screens!!

It arrived today and have just finished downloading all the updates. I am waiting for a world password from one of our members so I can join their world. Looks really awesome can&#39;t wait to get started. What world are you in?

Do u actually control how many time u swing ur sword, or is it automatic?

No, Final Fantasy XI and the word lame do not go together. I was late for work today because I stayed up till 3 am last night playing. It is that good&#33; Something I found real funny was this warning in the begining saying to remember that you have a job, family, etc.... I was like wtf, but now I know what they meant. :bawling:
