My dumbass cousin got a virus or adbot of some sort from "i-lookup.com" and I got rid of most of its stuff except I cant change the homepage and the toolbar always comes back on the IE. Theres a lot of pop ups involved as well and I tried quite the bit of things and I still can't shake it out. Anyone heard of this before or have any other suggestions on what to do? Thanks.

Sure did Sal, deep and quick scans and ran some other program. Even Norton2004 and I was able to kill most of it, just not that annoying bar on the IE and the homepage thing. I even went into safe mode and deleted suspicious windows files and searched out "ilookup" and "popup" and still nothing.

get netscape. unaffected by that sh1t. my bro has the same thing, it bypasses spybot and adaware, and can't help him over the phone.

otherwise a fresh install or repair install of windows should fix it.

if you enjoy pain, look at this thread:

that's good to hear. I always wanted to get another one, jus to check if spybot was spyware in disguise.

I used spybot and adaware together and it didn't work. Jim was right about Netscape not being effected by that kind stuff. :shifty:
