F.Y.I. I thought I'd pass this along to you all since Christmas is right around the corner:

According to a report on the [H]ard|OCP (http://www.hardocp.com/index.html) website and things I've read in Maximum PC (http://www.maximumpc.com) I would advise anyone considering buying a video card to steer clear of the VisionTek brand.

VisionTek :Going...going...GONE! The number one seller of NVIDIA based VidCards is shutting its doors, or rather having them shut.

While VisionTek experienced some problems earlier this year with financial debt, it was thought that all was going well for this U.S. based company from Northern Illinois. We have come to find out this weekend that all is far from well at one of our fave VidCard builders. It seems as though VisionTek is in utter financial shambles and a trustee has been appointed to come in and liquidate all the assets of the company.

Bankruptcy no. Foreclosure yes. It is understood that the trustee is there in order to recoup as much money from the current VisionTek assets in order to pay back dept to the bank(s) with interest in this matter. So what is seems will happen is that VisionTek will simply cease to exist.

No Prob! They like supplying the GPU with a little additional current for overclocking and a little better cooling then most other brands.

Hmmmm...opening cabinet with graghic card box in it....let's see what it says....Damn.....Visiontek....Maybe I should back off my overclock settings just a bit. I guess that lifetime warranty aint worth squat anymore.....Oh well.....brown stuff happens. Maybe I won't scorch this one until next spring.

They used too. Along with a bunch of other companies. There still might be some in shops. I wouldn't worry if I was you, as it would be HP problem if your card failed.

Nvidia makes the chipset; many different companies make the graphic cards. As far as I know there is no Nvidia graphics card, only their technology of processors and chipsets incorporated in to the many different manufactures of mother boards and graphic cards.

Man I tried to find a Gainward GS750 (GF4 4600ti) on pricewatch several times using different searches, It's just no one is running a special on them at the moment.

Newegg has them for $288 (Model#: GF4TI4600Ultra/750XP) Machine and I paid close to $340 for ours. (I think that's close to the price)
