Alamut

The Alamut valley lies in the Alburz mountain range, in the north of modern-day Iran, half way between Tehran and the Caspian Sea. The castle is built on a narrow ridge on top of a high rock in the heart of the mountains and dominating an enclosed valley, about 25 kilometres in length. More than 6,000 feet above sea level, the castle lies several hundred feet above the base of the rock, and could only be reached by a narrow, steep and winding path. The approach to the rock was through the narrow gorge of the Alamut river, between perpendicular and sometimes overhanging cliffs.

Note: This history of the Assamite clan is actually erroneous, but is a common view held amongst Assamites and other Kindred regarding the clan.

We, are the oldest of clans---far older than the fools of the Camarilla. They had not yet gathered themselves into clans when the Assamites were born, and their vaunted council was millennia in the future.

It began in the first city, which we call En'esh. Here, Khayvin (Caine to the Kafir) ceased his wandering and begat the Second Generation, whose number was five. The kafir speak of three, but five was their true number. For it was in En'esh that Haqim our ancestor lived, and where we, his children, were born.
Let me tell you his tale...........

Haqim was the Lord of the armies of En'esh, a great and noble warrior, beloved of the King and feared and loved by the people. He saw how the wanderer Khayyin entered the city with lies, and forced the king and queen to his will. He saw, though Khayyin knew it not, how they were made, and how they were taught, and he knew the great evil that would spread from them. He knew that priests could not stop this evil, nor armies, nor city walls, and he was greatly troubled.

He gathered to him certain of the soldiers whose hearts he knew, and they came upon the king and queen by day, and slew them and cut off their heads, and gathered up the blood in a goblet. Then with his own hand did our ancestor cut his throat, and watched his blood as it flowed away. When the last of his strength was leaving him, the soldiers gave him the cup to drink, and though he was sorely wounded, he did not die.

Certain soldiers were afraid, and feared that our ancestor would be tainted as the King and Queen were tainted, but he reassured them, saying "Be not afraid, for my purpose is true, and I shall use the beast's own strength against it." And the soldiers rejoiced, and freely gave of their blood that Haqim might live and be strong.

That night, Khayyin arose from where he lay, since he was hidden and the soldiers could not find him. When he beheld what had become of the King and Queen he grew angry, and fell upon the soldiers as a djinn, tearing their bodies asunder. Haqim arose and fought with him; all through the night they struggled, but Haqim was still young in Blood and sore from his Change, and Khayyin prevailed. He drained Haqim and flung him on the sand, and when the sun rose he fled to his hiding-place.

When he was gone the soldiers covered Haquim with a cloak, and shut him in a casket, and took him from the city. They had yet some blood from the King and Queen, and with this our ancestor was healed, though for many months he was sorely wounded. For a long time they traveled, until they came to the far mountains where Khayyin could not find them. There they built a great and secret fortress which they called Alamut, the Eagles Nest, for it was lofty and strong. Haqim rested and tended his wounds, and grew stronger in the Blood. Certain of his soldiers, whom he found worthy, he made of the Blood also, and bade them make war upon Khayyin and his progeny, that their evil should not taint the earth.

For Haqim knew that Khayyin would make more children in the First City, and indeed he did so. These were the three whom the munafiquin call the Second Generation. They knew not of the King and Queen, for Khayyin would not affright them with their own mortality, and knew not that Haqim lived.

That is the true story of Khayyin the Wanderer and Haqim our Ancestor, and it is the true beginning of us all. Remember, O beloved, how our Ancestor bade his children cleanse the world, and how he set our feet upon the Path of Blood.

Feared by all yet courted by many, refusing outside allegiances yet willing to hunt Kindred for a payment of blood, the Assamites are among the most reclusive clans. Once hunted, these vampire assassins are now sought out by the Kindred to dispose of their enemies. Fearful tales are told of their skill in hunting the most dangerous prey, their bravery in combat, and their fierce loyalty to their clan. Yet the tellers of these tales do not guess at the truth: the millennia of warfare, the roots of the Jyhad, and the clan mysteries which no outsider has ever seen.

The Crusaders brought back many tales from the Holy Land, some of which concerned a band of fanatical killers. The word Europeans coined for these silent murderers was assassin. The Cainites, however, already knew of a similar, but far more dangerous threat from Araby – the diabolists of Clan Assamite.

The Vampires of the West had encountered the Assamites long before the Crusaders. Some say that the conquerors who set out for the East – Alexander, for example – were pawns of the Cainites who feared the Assamites. Rumors aside, the Assamites are dreaded for good reason – they seek to better themselves through the practice of diablerie.

According to Assamite teachings, one must lower his generation in order to become closer to Caine, and therefore to Heaven. The truest method is, of course, diablerie. Murder was simply part and parcel of the way, and they became skilled of necessity. They even began a practice of accepting assassination contracts, payable by blood, from other Cainites. Although honor-bound to defend their clanmates, the Assamites had no compunctions about slaying any foreign Vampires.

The Assamite Antitribu are almost identical to their non-Sabbat counterparts, except that they accept all races into their clan, granting membership to anyone with a warrior's heart. Also, most importantly, they were never subjected to the Curse of the Tremere. The Assamites of the Sabbat are free to drink the blood of all Vampires. Because of this, they may be considered a separate bloodline from all other Assamites.

The Assamites of the Sabbat, acting on the request of the Sabbat leader Vestgeir, severed all direct association to the Assamite clan. The Sabbat Assamites have since that time made peace with their former clan. Assamite Antitribu will not battle non-Sabbat Assamites, and Assamites have never warred against the Sabbat Assamites. This unspoken understanding is at least recognized by Sabbat leaders.

The Assamite Antitribu are the primary assassins of the Sabbat. However, they do not ask for blood from the leaders of the sect. Instead, they ritually slay the eldest of their own clan every 100 years through a special diablerie ceremony. This elder has some of the blood of the Lasombra founder, a third generation vampire, running through his veins. The elder exists for a century as the closest Assamite Antitribu to Caine himself, ruling under the title Hulul. At the end of the 100-year reign, the next in line drinks the precious vitae from the previous ruler, and so it passes it through history.

Nickname: Angels of Caine

Appearance: Assamites originally came from cultures of the East – Arabs, Moors and the like. Consequently, most have the distinguishing characteristics of those races: swarthy skin, aquiline features and dark hair and eyes. Unlike other Cainites, they do not grow paler in death. Instead, their skin becomes darker over the years; very elder Assamites are nearly ebony-black. Though many of the younger generations of Assamite Antitribu are not of Middle Eastern heritage, they still develop dark skin as time passes, just like all other Assamites.

Background: The clan tends to watch potential neonates before allowing an Assamite to sire progeny. Although necessity sometimes demands that a new childe be sired quickly, the Assamites prefer making time for an apprenticeship. The Assamite Antitribu are strict in choosing recruits. If a newly created Assamite Antitribu survives her first experience in combat, she becomes a mustajib, or "deserving one." Mortals never serve the Assamites before being chosen to become one. Only after becoming Vampires do they get the chance for acceptance. For a period of seven years, the Vampire must serve the Assamite Antitribu who created her. If the mustajib fails in any of her tasks, she is destroyed. If she succeeds, she becomes a fadais, or "one who sacrifices herself," for seven more years as she serves her creator. During this time she becomes recognized as a member of the clan and she studies the Assamite art of assassination.

Many Path of Blood adherents, including ur-Shulgi and the members of the Web of Knives, preach a wholly divergent tale that casts not only the other Antediluvians but Caine and the Second Generation as the villains. According to this story, Haqim was never Embraced; rather, he deliberately made himself into a vampire in order to combat Caine:

Thousands of years ago, a great city stood in what the mortals now call the Fertile Crescent. This city's name was En'esh - "Enoch," to the Cainites. The king of En'esh, a wise and just man, was named Khe-duk. His queen, beautiful and noble, was Liada. As was the city's tradition, the eldest prince had no name but that of his city, En'esh, in order to remind him of the duty to his people for which he was being groomed. And the king's spear and shield, the lord of the armies of En'esh, the most trusted advisor and closest confidant of the royal family, was a man named Haqim.

that's a highly specialized and prized skill. the spacing is referred to as a "dramatic pause", it takes years to master getting the right combinations of smileys and spaces in order to make the greatest amount of humor.
What I suggest is that you work on :P. This can be very funny when done all alone in a post. Practice making a post every few minutes with only :P. Once you have perfected the skill of posting :P, then you can move on to something more difficult....

Cool, i am glad someone was watching. That guy is a pain in the ass. I could not get to him in the lava room as he was always camping there, shooting cannon balls all the time. It gets frustrating.

For the people who been wondering how come I dont play anymore is because I been trying to set a wireless network in my house. But I can't quite get the internet to work:( Once I fix that though I'll would be back in action :D

i think you are wanting to use wireless on the other computers in the house. i have seen similar, like the signal is reorienting itself, made the connection useless for gaming.

in other words then wireless sucks for gaming :( If I put them together using a cable are they going to work better then. If so I could return it.

I am also thinking about switching the wireless network card to the old pc and putting the router in my gaming machine. I dont seem to be getting any spikes in the pc with the router.:thumbs:

also add 30 ms to your ping (for b, it may be less with g). If you want to get rid of a cable on the floor, then switch the router setup, otherwise...

Well I have a Belkin 54g 2.4 ghz wireless router and the network card is also a belkin g.
Also I didnt really do anything to the settings of the router. I petty much let windows do everything for me. My network card has a option that lets windows set up for me or I could set up manually. I dont know much about this kinda stuff.:(
