Dan it looks like you and I are the only ones that can't get it to run.
I think mine is related to this Asus card and drivers.
Is this the message you are getting?

Ok I downloaded the patch and tried again - guess what - still the same error. Here it is:

Critical: UWindowsViewport::ResizeViewport
Critical: UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes
Critical: UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice
Critical: UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow
Critical: UGameEngine::Init
Critical: InitEngine

Thats what the log file tells me.

Anyone know what to do against that?

Saretta

BTW I get exactly the same error when I try to start playing Americas Army

FUS1ON

Mine now tells me:
[i:ac6cd9f612]You have outdated Nvidia drivers. Please upgrade your drivers to version 30.82 or later.[/i:ac6cd9f612]
Thanks Asus. :evil:
I'll just try on my new machine later today and mess with this one later.

I redownloaded it two times and I formated my comp (I had to do that NOT because of the game). I tried with the new nvidia drivers and without. I tried with the patch ...

And it still doesn't work! I hope the full version will :?

The readme file also says to downgrade to the 30.82 drivers if you have the 40.41 drivers? I have gotten a critical error too, both times when I tried to join a death match. I can play by myself with no problem at all. Like 2 out of 5 tries to connect to a server it crashes with the critical error. Plus does anyones server list shake? Like the server names are flickering and you can't read them?

The server list shakes when you sort by ping. It has been fixed in the patch they just released. It was happening for me too.

Somthing is still not right. I was just playing a bot match to try out the patch and the game crashed again with a general protection fault. :( It is pissing me off. My system is perfectly capable of handling this game.

HAMMER

Didn't fix my problem either. I still have to switch to 98 just to play this game. Damn...I was thinking of blowing away my 98 dual boot this week too. Glad I didn't follow up with it LOL

I was just in your server hammer, I finally found it, and I was running around for about 5 minutes. Then this happend. Any ideas on what is happening? BTW it has nothing to do with your server, it happens when I play single player also.
