Ok, I bought the whole system and in the description it said the GeForce had a TV out. I looked in the back and I saw the hole for it. But it never came with a cable. So I was wonderingif the TV out meant i could hook it up to my TV and download and watch movies on my TV. Could someone xplain to me what the whole thing mean? And if I have to buy a cable? Thanks

That's probably an S-Video cable and yes you will have to buy one. If your drivers support TV Out, MS Drivers probably won't, manufacterer's should. Then yes, you can view movies, and even your desktop on a TV. You can even play SS:SE on the TV too.

Mine has that too. Does anyone know the maximum length that an S-Video cable can be?

I've seen them run up to 50 ft. But I think you can find longer. May lose some quality, but not sure. You can get the video on your TV but the sound is still gonna come out of the 'puter. It's great if you have a DVD or avi film and don't wanna see it on your monitor. Your guests can also watch how badly you play Sam.
:P

Yes. I use a splitter out of the card so I can send sound to my stereo and my computer speakers. You will need to get an adapter to convert it to an Rca male end plug. Then plug it in to an open port that says audio in. Usually it says like video 1, video 2 on the receiver and they have video in/out audio in/out.

Although you could use this for a bigger monitor, but remember, your tvs resolution sucks!! You will lose a lot of quality. Now on the other hand, if you have an HDTV, then you are set. Those are pretty much a giant humongus puter screen, and they have awesome resolution. More and more stations are starting to broadcast the HD signals out. So if you have an HDTV, it only does you good if the station you are watching, is broadcasting it. Hope that helps.

I don't have a dedicated DVD player for my TV, but the computer has one. I was gonna use the computer as a DVD player until I get a real one.

Sorry for barging in on your thread Snip3r! :)

I think you're right Shoggy. But I'm not giving up my Beta format vcr for anything. Besides, it fits perfectly on the shelf with my quadraphonic 8-track player.

You can use Twinview and play on your monitor while your guests watch on the TV.
