Hello fellow gamers.........Here is my system...followed by my question.
m/b chaintech..100fsb it has an AGP slot
cpu amd duron 1.3
mem 512 mb pc133
g/card Verto GeForce4 Mx420 w/64mb PCI (not AGP, dang)
o/s windows xp pro
hd 40gb....7200rpm

Now the question <drum roll here>
Which would give me more gaming for the dollar?
A TI 4200 agp graphics card with 128mb ddr at about $175 or less
OR
A new motherboard and cpu? and if so which one, and for how much.
The graphics card would be definately cheaper but I don't know which would make the larger difference.....Card or M/B+CPU
Thank you all for any help...........Goober

new memory DDR, new mobo w/ ddr support, video card, and a new cpu would be good...or you might even be about to save the cpu and save up for something better...definitely get a new board and memory

new graphic card will give you more gaming most definitly.........but you really need to look into upgrading the rest of the components a little down the road
