i hate aliases

the worst is when you own them and they quit before game is over. it seems most do not want to wear their tags so i for now on will be the meanest scumiest player out there using all the tricks, pups and roofing. i for one am going to make the game hated more than it is now. :devil:

you are better off. it's not the same anymore. there are a few that play old school but there are the other few that just ruin it. daoc was fun but to addicting and ut is fun but hard to find the people from gm in. i am not crazy for the deathmatchs in ut (need to get used to the weapons but the others are alot of fun.

rockets, grenades are the way the game is played now. you have no choice to use them or you wil not survive in the top 3. i enjoy playing you and others that i know that will just go heads up with a shotgun or knife and avoid the pups. i enjoy that competition which 1 out of 10 is the average of games like that today. maybe i will just play the amn checkers game that comes with xp but people also quit when they are beat at that too :rofl: .

I still play and have fun. Sam is still my favorite online game. I don't care if I have a great game or a crappy one. It still is fun and I can get a couple games in without spending the whole day. Just don't take it so serious and enjoy the frag.

yes tip, you always have your tags on and play to the end. you honor your clan the way we are supposed to. this game is supposed to be fun but some have a problem with losing with their tags on. i always use tags and when i lose i hate it but that's because i am competitive but when i lose, i always lose with my tags.

i do not understand the concept of alias names. even if you are practicing, what difference does it make if you announce it to the players in the game. i guess the thing i hate about it is it seems sneaky. i think this game would be more fun if people wore their tags or their name so we all know who we are playing.

I dont think that alias are so important. Sometimes you can think about who there is behind the alias, but this is just a game, and i dont care if someone use alias.
For me it is not " who you beat" but " how you beat them".

lol, sambo and aliases. any other game and you have 1000s of players
and no complaints about aliases or anything else. you want to play together
with a group of people you know, then join a clan and play
with/against them, point being, it just shows the sorry state of sam
clans. so aliases, who cares? if you own someone and make them leave,
then congrats to you. as for me, you may be playing against me some
days, others not. i am the guy that is pretty good some of the time, sucks
the rest of the time. dunno why, just the way it is. i use my name
when i feel like it, get creative when i don't. just whatever mood i am in.
sam is like a bitter pill. i will play for a while if i am having fun, and
leave if i am not. no biggie. i feel no obligation to waste time with people
who are not sporting players, especially if the rest of the servers are
empty... but thats me. personally i like your playing style, run and gun.
no crouching and camping and whoring. (ok, maybe some whoring... :))

Everybody knows that I hate aliasses and despisses them.
Lately Sam isn´t the same anymore and I miss the days as we all had fun together playing it with our tags on :(

Hopefully Croteam will come out soon with Sam 2 :rolleyes:
But I found my new love in DAOC and personally I think no other game can replace it, especially sam with it new whiners and keybinding whores nowadays.

I hate alias's too. I think people that use them lack self confidence. The old excuse of "I was warming up" is a bunch of crap. I hop on a co-op map if I want to warm up or test mouse settings.



I went back to playing SSFE (yes, that's FIRST editon). Not alot of servers or players. But the majority of the players display good sportsmanship, especially the CF players.
Are there alias's....yes..but you can usually talk them into telling you who they are.

I don't want to use excuses or be childish, but sometimes I like to be hidden. Just like on GM, I am always a hidden member. If I could, I would just play bots, but unfortunatley the bot mod was horrible and I despise single player/co-op.

I don't want to undermine your statement HPC, I have nothing but respect for you and I will try to use my tags as much as possible.. :)

Since Serious Sam is a sort of a "cult" game, not many people play it. This makes the game seem more of a close network of players--when people have their tags on. When people do not display their tags, this makes everyone seem foreign; which is bad enough in a game with such a small playing audience.
So please do us a favor and wear your clan tags with pride. Clans should have rules that say if they catch a member without there tags on 3 offenses, they will be kicked out of the clan. This is a rule in many other FPS clans and should be a rule in the clans in Serious Sam also in order to minimize the alias usage.

I have the samer approach to the game as Tip :wootrock: :wootrock: he got me involved in the game, i&#39;ve played for over a year now and i&#39;ve never looked back, all other games just don&#39;t have the same feeling as ssam does, and i&#39;ve tried everything from CS to UT2k(3&4) to Q3 and some other games.

i hate getting owned by an alias, who doesn&#39;t want to say who he really is when you ask polite.

Only play sam online with tags win or lose, without pups sometime forget bonus health and armour, at least don&#39;t wait for it. Try to avoid spamming, looking more for the shotty nowadays, but do use rockets and grenades (cost me some: suicide kills)

Well, I came back to sam after a 4 month break, played about 5 games, and packed it up. Ive installed it again, and true, there are aliases.

But hey any alias can be taken out with a little pup whorage and a rocket up there ass.
