Well I was in the market for a new speaker system for my PC, so I bought this one. The only drawback is that I can't use the rear center channel speaker, but the nForce will fake it. They sound great. They don't push a lot of power, like the Klipsh though, but if I want to go deaf I will drive around with my car stereo blaring. So, on the initial UT2003 test, for the Inspire 6.1
I give it
:w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: 1/2 out of 5.

Man, that looks nice. I have a 4.1 setup, and it still seems nice. Play Undying or something creepy like that with that setup!

I will tell you what though, it was quite a feat to get this to work with my moboard. If any of you guys have the A7N8X and are looking at these, let me know, and I will tell you what I had to do to get the sub/center to seperate the channels.

Klipsh are the best, but pricey. Did you mean to say speakers, or headphones?

Anyway, I have the Inspire 5.1 and I really like them. I can play them as load as I would ever want to without distortion. The price was right too - about $100.

100 bucks sounds pretty good for pc speakers. i have ibm 4.1 speakers and are good but would like to have the full 6.1 feature. what about other speaker company's. i would like to get good speakers around 100-150.

I payed 114 with shipping for the 6.1 from Newegg. CompUSA and Best Buy had them for 130.
I figured I made out like a bandit.

Okay. All I can say is 'wow'
Just played three BR matches with the new speaks kickin...I think my ear is bleeding. Sound everywhere, no distortion....beautiful.
I love them. Total system power is only 120 watts, but you wouldn't know it. These things are NICE.

By the way BIGG, if you are looking for headphones, mine are old, but they are solid. JVC HA-D590.
They are most likely discontinued, but if you can find them, get 'em. Full size headphones, block out ambient noise and all that. I was listening to my stereo with them once, and forgot to turn the speakers off. Wife told me the windows were rattling, but I couldn't hear it through the headphones and the music.

I have these as well, but have not yet figured out how to get the rears to work (all drivers etc have been installed, and the speakers themselves are functional). Did you happen to have any trouble getting them going at all? The front 3 are fine but the rears.. not a peep. :dunno:

Well it depends. I didn't install the stuff that came on the CD. I just went to the Creative site and downloaded the latest drivers. If you do that then you have to go into the control panel under Sounds and Multimedia and then go to the Advanced Playback area and set the configuration for 5.1. If you install the software that came on disk then you have to use one of the utilities to do it.

The 6.1 doesn't use any drivers. That is crazy.

Aren't the Drivers for the Sound Card? And to get 6-1, doesn't the sound card have to support it?

I misread Sirc's post. If he is using the Audigy, then yes, you have to have the drivers.
As I mentioned before, I use the A7N8X, so I can't use all 7 speakers. My rear speakers create a virtual center channel. So, in BIGG's case and in mine the 5.1 would do the trick. I misread the moboard info when I initially bought it, and confused 6 channel audio with 6.1 digital. I would have to get the Audigy 2 to get the full use of the 6.1's.

That still doesn't change the fact that they KICK ASS!

Perhaps i should clarify - by installation of drivers it was meant with regards to the sound card (an Audigy), and not speaker drivers per se (Sirc and i speak in shorthand you see).

Regardless, i have had the time but not the inclination to truly examine the problem. Thanks for the feedback, however. Might look in on it over the weekend.

Yep, sorry. I have an Audigy too. I was talking about the sound card drivers.
