Looks like most modern PCs will be able to run this fine. If you do plan on upgrading for the game, be smart and buy the game first to see if you even need the upgrade.

A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500.
384 megabytes of memory.
Two gigabytes of hard drive space.
An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better.

Seems pretty standard.
I expected no less really but then again i have yet to play the game.
Also PC Gamer was one of the first toi review Doom 3 and they gave it a 94%.
