Lag free 8 player Doom 3 MP

I noticed that there are servers out there for doom hosting 8 and 16 player deathmatches so I decided to try one out. Since ASE updated to include D3 support, I noticed nobody had a ping over 100 and there were already 7 people in it so I jumped in. Lo and behold is ran lag free silky smooth with 8 people all going nuts. So don't worry, there is hope for those that have 4 player DM stuck in their heads.

Nice. This is good news. I'm confused why ID would release it with only 4 slots if it was that easy to modify for 8-12 (or 16). :ponder:

my theory is that with 64kbits bandwidth per player (as out of the box) there should
not be any multiplayer issues, whereas with mods, well, they may work but are not guaranteed to work or supported (aside from tools to make them).
