I need a program that will change a cd audio file to a .wav file.
Can anyone help?

I bit more specific:
I need to pull a song off a cd and change it to a wav file?
How is this done?

Do you have EasyCD Creator burner software ? Other than that I use media player with a plugin to rip to mp3.

Nero should work also. In EasyCD you just rightclick the track and pick prerecord to wav file.

The plugin I have is for the XP version of mediapalyer. Version 8 I believe.

Nero does not work.
I was able to copy it from the cd to a windows media file.
Now I have no idea how to convert it over to a wav file.

I'm trying to find something for you on the web. Media player only lets me rip to wma or mp3.

It looks like Nero will do it from what I am seeing on their website. Try saving track as and choose a file type, or extract maybe.

I want to record about 30 sec of the file to use in a web page.

Usually with the Sound Blaster software works well if you have it. Wave Recorder is the one. I used to have this sweet proggy called CoolEdit, I'll look to see if I still have.

Is there a way to do it with the sound recorder in windows?

I don't think I have ever run that. Looks crude but it looks like it will edit and delete parts.

Do you know of any other program.
I would hate to insert a 5 min song when I only want 30 seconds.

Or you can use Yamp to extract the files. I really like Yamp. It also comes with mp3 endocing/decoding and many other things.

After you load the wav it's basicaly cut and paste kind of deal. Highlight a part and delete it or fade it etc. It has been awhile since I have used it though. The website has some tutorials.
