As you have probably learned by now, I didn't come up with this answer, I did a google search using your error message. You can look for more information at forumplanet.com/planetdoom

My first thought is re-download the patch from a different source and try again.

My next thought is, make sure that the game files and pak files are not set to read-only when you install the patch.

My third and final thought is that the no-cd patch you might be using is linking the wrong dll.

The crack i downloaded for a no cd patch was for version 1.0

i tried system restoring..but no good
