Well, I tried to play it but when it loads up I get a light-blue screen and flickering horizontal black bars. I've tried playing it after a couple of restarts, and the same thing happens. I looked in the FAQ and it mentions that normal ATI Radeons may have trouble playing it - so I assume they mean my card(ATI Radeon Mobility 9000). As a result I uninstalled the demo.

I played about an hour's worth and it was pretty fun. I'll be gone at 6 but I may be online late tonight.

what is this game like? Is it fun? do a lot of people play?

It's a team DM type game with huge maps and a ton of people in each game (A good one could have 32 players). All I've played is CTF and it was fun. Also each player has a jet pack which means the maps are wide open and you can go wherever you want.

Since you need a bunch of people for a game, let's get a bunch of people on the server tonight. You can download the demo at http://www.tribesvengeance.com/us/

Theres quite a few servers running the demo. Its cool cause its new but I need more time to play before I make any decistions. Its like ut with different movement and weapons. Graphics are nice and the game seems to run smooth. DL the MP ver and join us. :)

Multiplayer Mode

Tribes®: Vengeance comes with 5 default game types. In each game type, you need to apply your warrior skills to help your team achieve an objective.

• Arena
Arena is basic team combat elimination with multiple rounds. Once you die in Arena, you have to wait until the round is over before you respawn. The team with the most wins is the overall winner.

• Ball
One of the new sports modes in Tribes®: Vengeance. Grab the ball and score it in the opponent’s goal.

• Fuel
Fill a fuel depot at your base by collecting fuel cells on the map. You can carry and deliver 15 fuel cells at a time. Whenever a player dies, their fuel depot loses one fuel cell.

• Rabbit
A long-standing Tribes® favorite, it’s essentially a game of flag keep-away.

• Capture the Flag
The most popular of all the TribalWar game types. Steal the enemy flag and bring it back to your flag to score a point. Your flag must be at its flag stand in order to score, so keep the enemy team from stealing your flag.

I tried it last night. I ran around in Frags server by myself to get the hang of it. Then I went to a nearly full 32 person server and got my but whooped! It will take some time to get used to the fact that you can't jump (jet pack instead). Someone pick a time and lets meet on Frag's server so all us newbs and figure out what the heck we're doing.
