Comcast Upstream

Sweet. I just got notice that on March 1st they are doubling my upstream from 128 to 256k. Any other Comcast customers getting this increase too?

I just got 1839 down, and 229 up. I usually get higher than that down, like 2200. Cold night, everyone on the net locally, I guess.

Normally it's $45, but I got the double-speed, ultra-high connection for $86.

I checked on Optimum Online, not available for me. Plus, I doubt I could stomach the premium package, but it's nice that the option is there. I look back at my 2400 modem as the infancy of online, but in the (hopefully) not-too-distant future, we'll have areas of pure fiber hookups, or the next greatest thing. Probably not the "Universal Mind", but getting closer to the Universal Hard Drive.

Scroll down till you see Shields Up. This will scan and test your ports to see how vulnerable your system is to hackers. I use zone alarm works great. No Problems @ all :thumbs:
