Not yet. Plan on unlocking the multiplyers and seeing what damage I can do. That is another reason I am getting that new fan. I am running the moboard on aggresive though.

I will look at that tonight. I was looking at a kit where I would connect the points on the cpu itself to unlock all the multipliers available. If I can mess with it without doing that though, that would be great. Don't want to smoke the cpu!

ME BIGGD01
02-11-2003, 04:08 PM
no need to do that as they are already unlocked on thoroughbred core.

BainSidhe--your system is running under performance. your score should be atleast 150 and above. ck that your memory is running at peak performance. make sure nothing is running while benching cpu and do not move the mouse either until done.

ME BIGGD01
02-11-2003, 04:10 PM
nobody, your system can be upgraded to newer athlon. go for 1700 or 1800 but make sure you have latest bios update as the newer processors are based on .13 thoroughbred core.

I think that test only related to your CPU and how fast or how many process it could handle at one time, then it gave a general score based on some scale that I know nothing about. Ask BIGG. I just do what he tells me. :oooo:

nobody, your system can be upgraded to newer athlon. go for 1700 or 1800 but make sure you have latest bios update as the newer processors are based on .13 thoroughbred core.
Nope not on this motherboard. The KT7A w/133 FSB yes but mine only has 100 FSB and not enough multipliers to do any good :bandhead: 13 x 100 = 1300 Mhz. The newest bios allows for 1400 but thats it.
It's been a good board but it is well past it's prime like the rest of my system....and me for that matter :D

Most I have been been able to get out of it :
Tbird 1Ghz @ 1.2 (unlocked processor and bumped voltage a little :D) Alpha PAL heatsink
512 Mb Kingmax PC150 C2 @ 133mhz (board allows hostclk+PCI 100 + 33)
Have a modded Blue Orb on the NorthBridge but FSB does not like being OC on this board :bandhead:
GF2 32mb ( OC a little but the fan is about to die  )

well here is one of mine on a system i wanted to put threw a bunch of test before i considered it stable.
cpu-athlon xp 1800 with thorougbred revb core. over clocked 11.5 x 166-1.92 ghz which equates to close to a 2700 except i only paid around 80 bucks for the chip where as 2700 costs over 250 dollars. i took a chance with this chip but the outcome has been beneficial. this is used along side of the msi nforce2 board.

please note this----msi nforce2 board can be bought for 100 dollars and with onboard geforce4mx 129.

ok so

BIOHAZARD-your score is extremely low for an 1800. you should be hitting 130 or higher.

goober i bought it at one of my local wholesalers. if you buy one make sure it's on .13 micron and also make sure your motherboard can run the thoroughbred core. if you are going to overclock make sure your board features the pci lock.

i have a few systems but nothing beats my dual amd mp system.
