A one off international tourney

Heres an idea.

How about a nation v nation match? If you're worried about lag or ping advantage then don't bother applying but if it doesn't bother you then put your name down here and I'm sure us hardened fanatics can have a great tourney.

Example: Brits v Americans, Canadians v Danes, Swedes v Fins etc etc. I'm sure we could get teams from the additional following countries: Spain, Germany (imagine Rosie and C2 together :eek: ), Poland (5th and Lady :eek: ), Finland, Italy, Norway and probably more. So forget what clan your in, this is representing your country only.

We can have the first rounds where we all play each other once then the winners go to he next stage etc, eventually ending in the Grand Final.

Anyways, if your interested post here and lets see if we can make this work.

DieHard, I think it should be fun but there will be disadvantages to americans when playing. This is the fault in the game itself which I experience all the time because I play on all servers where ever there is a game. I know that to kill someone on from europe I have to kill them several times and even then I watch the person die and still live. I don't think its anyone cheating but a flaw in the game. This also happens on american servers when playing people from another country. I have tried to eliminate the problem but I do not think it is possible.

If you do this or get it together I think trying to keep each challenge to a minumum of 4-5 in each game. Ofcourse I hope people will have their tags on.

I would be willing to play in this tourny and represent my country. I also will try to get my brother to be my partner "Achilles". I think the two of us could do pretty well and give a challenge.

Sincee I have been considering leaving Sam for good as I move to quake 4, I see this as a good way to leave the game.:thumbs:

I think servers should not be a problem but they should be games or servers from each country because we all know the lag will hurt some or actually many players. I can set up a dedicated server at one of the offices in Manhattan for a week. I think it would be fair for someone who has the bandwith to do this from each country because I think that Lag will take fun out of it. I know when I play some people from other countries on the outlaws server they too suffer from lag.

Anything I can do just e-mail or pm me. Best time to grab me is late at night eastern time since I hardly sleep.:thumbs:

Well I say stick to one server. The Outlaws server is the most stable in my opinion. Sure the Euro's will have a higher ping and will suffer some lag but as I said before the best players have gotten used to it and can still win in that server.

I have no problem playing there and will not complain if I lose. I'm pretty sure all the best Euro players will say the same.

If we make this too complicated and use a Euro and an American server then believe me it won't succeed.

So, please lets say just one server. We all therefore know the rules so if you think you can't play on it then don't apply.

As far as me leaving shotty, as jmuch as I like the game it seems to have gotten boring to me. since I always use my tags and people know me, my style, I have grown tired of the bs players that feel wearing a alias and talking smack. The term noob from one of these pathetic people just bothers me since I can not stomp on their forehead with my 14" boot. The game is full of cowards and losers that need to alter thing in order to have a chance. By far these people are the reason the server are usually empty. As much as I have or can ignore these weak people that feel hiding there name so they dont get caught, it just is not worth getting aggravated over these days. Besides anyone that plays under an alias regardless if they have skills or not really is not a good player and gets no respect. For me, most of you know when you see me in game you are going to know my style and play to that style. I am an aggressive player that loves his knife. If I played under alais, people would not know who they are playing and would not have that advantage. Personally for those that liked the community of the game and wonder why the game is dead regardless of the 25 people that still play, this is what killed the game. Actually the number is probably lower since the people in the games are usually the same people.

I have come to expect the aliases and other crap that comes with joining into a sam server. This is why I am finally moving on after this tournament. Not only am I planning to kick some ass but beat the pussies that hide under aliases and talk smack so after the day is done, they know what they are. I shall have some tricks under the sleeve as well. I wish my brother would join in this because he feels the same way. I am sure if NANO is playing he will play as long as he has his tags on because as he says (Achilles) there is no trophy beating an alias which I agree. Again, these pussies ruined the game.

Then the top 4 teams go through to the semi's and then 2 go into the final. And then of course the UK team wins :P

Bigg, u make me laugh, really, u didn't want a 1vs1 with me when i asked u and DH was present there so he knows i'm right and now u come with stuff about ur brother, well, for ur info i got screenies of me beating ur brother on it's own server and then him starting to whine about aliases, bitching and closing the server so u better don't continue that way. About the aliases, yes i use a lot of them, for the single reason that i win 50 games and i don't post a **** and as soon as i lose one i find a thread on the forums saying that someone beated me (like recently happened on saints forum).
P.S. I have 19 yrs old and still living at my parents house, so?, still being more mature than u, at least i don't complain about ppl winning while using aliases and don't start talking crap like "imma hack u" and stuff. I would bet that he was either on his machine or was suffering some sort of lag that gave you a plus. I think I can hold my own against you but play my brother when he is ready and I will pay pal a bet with you, that you will not win. I am serious about that and we can offer a medium to send the money to and pay the winner. I am that confident as he can beat me with ease and I am not easy. He has his own style that I have seen nobody play with yet. I thought I was good with the knife but I have seen him beat a map full of people with just that weapon. You will almost think he cheats.

So go get your milk money or allowance and place your wage. I will match it and we go from there. I am going to call him after this post.

As far as your excuse of using many aliases, it makes no sense. I was there when you started with my brother in a game. It sounds gay you get upset if you win 50 games and someone posts a screenie of them winning with you in the game. Everyone loses as there is no best player out there who wins all the time. I have lost with kingsville in the game a few times but I don't get upset if he posts a screenie of me losing in that game. Who the hell knows what the scenario was. I come into games behind 20 and win but I also lose which may look like I started from the beginning. It's no big deal for any loss to me and a screenie do not tell the game. I for one have lost many games when I just join a server and did not really feel like playing or just had a bad game. I think If anyone wins and posts a screenie and feels good about the game, so be it. I think your alias excuse contradicts your mature statement.

One last thing. If anyone says I whine in a game that I am losing, most people know that is a lie. I would rate myself one of the most respecting player that plays sam but do not expect respect if you are playing and doing things that annoy the other players. I may say stfu or something in that line. If I say I am lagging bad, that is not whining but a vent as the game has never been patched. I am the kind of guy that will f9 myself when a new player who is reputable in skill or as a player to give that person a better game. Not only that unless I hit the wrong key which happens, I usually always say gg unlike many of the other players.

So if you want to play me one on one, I will play ya. I am ready. If you honestly believe you can beat/own my brother, we will schedule that and get something going. I will enjoy that one becuase as much as my brother could be a prick with his taunts in a game, he is good.

Sorry about the hijak and my original thread was not to offend nano in the first place regardless of how I feel about him. I use him as an example because he is a good player but plays under aliases. That is the point I was trying to make with the alias use which makes the game pointless because you do not know who you are beating. It was strictly a point I wanted to get across in hope people could put 2 and 2 together and maybe start using their tag,name.

As far as demoing it, I will not do that as it lags the game but I will Capture the actual game from my end and convert it to mpeg file. I want to make a point of what it's like to play someone in another country. A demo misses the lag but the capture wont and will show when I say having to kill someone 3-4 times is not bs. I do not blame anyone but croteam but the truth is the truth.
