ok, so say that croteam assigns 5 programmers for 3 months to make what you want. what is in it for them? are they going to sell a whole bunch more copies of ss:se from wal-mart for $9? nope. any new dev is going to SS2, and then SS3 after it.... so it's not going to happen.

Next, why the hell would they patch a game which maybe a couple dozen people play and they make no money on. Why don't you have them patch E.T. for Atari while you're at it. You people need to learn that games have a lifespan, both for players and developers. It's time to move on. You can have fun playing the game with whoever's left, but to waste space complaining and petioning is one of the stupidest things I have ever seen.

now SGM, how many hours have you spent playing Sam? All though I no longer play, I would have to say I have spent thousands of hours playing over the past three years. The game cost me about $10. That is the cost of a movie and drink, no popcorn. Two hours of entertainment, if I am lucky. if people get upset about sucky movies, they tell their friends not to go, and that is it. that being said, i am not sure why there is just endless bitching about a game, usually by people who download the game off the internet. it is an excellent game, if it sucked, there would not be people still bitching about it 5 years after it came out. it certainly could be better, but the game is no longer making money. It is at the end of the life cycle. Croteam has to think about the future, just like everyone else....

Heh, sry guys but you are damn morrons (admins) for sure , you cant know why i make this petition or even what the hell is going on !! Becouse the rest community isnt on gamemecca lol !! We speak about this project on rest ss portals , and almost @ll want this league ! We have contact with rusian community etc. There is many persons who work about this project , we speak with clanbase and seriouszone , we are done many simple things already to make this **** happen. Btw i must agree with this , that Croteam want to sell products, not making somethink for players who play so old game as Ss:Se is . Thats becouse we must enforce croteam. Next thing we even have sponsors for this league and pls dont saying bull**** that anybody play this game , becouse WE ARE THE COMMUNITY ! Not you sry . Offcourse we dont see many players on the servers cuz they dont want to play without a reason like cups, league, stats, etc . But we have speak with almost @ll old playas and they say they want this league and come back to ss for 100%.
Some of player put the special topic about reactivation Ss scene but you guys delete it :) Thats becouse Gm community players dont even know how many ppl work about this project , and how many want back to ss :):) We dont want make **** and take all Gm ss clans to our portals , and maybe we will delete Gmz , Sa, etc for the new project . We ask you guys for help , before , and you piss on this . You dont understand that we want good for eweryone , for All ss community . In some place, possibly far away.......in some unknown galaxy's specialized game devs Uni. one graduate student could possibly be writing their thesis or doing their dissertation, in their research of the game Serious Sam right now ! :P

And as problematic as that might be, Im sure they would find more than just a general consensus, especially from among some of their peers, of the qualitys and the inequalitys of SS !!

In a perfect world, (chuckle inserted here) I would find that not much different than Croteam (as small of a game dev co it may be, n my kudos to
them !!) asking for GM to give its ideas for/with its dev. of SS2's DM add-on! And Croteam its seems did in genuine interest and sincerity, incorporated many of those ideas and suggestions it got from GM or suggestions it might have recieved else where, into its dev of SS2's DM! And for the main part, Croteam did make many improvements in SS2 and its DM, because of that needed and garnered input !! :thumbs:

From purely an economic point of view, in the end for Croteam it will be about amount of sales and $$ for them, (hopefully with phenomenal and repeated sales) and with the reported or supposed dev of SS3, I sincerely hope and wish even a greater success to Croteam, and maybe the best of SS has yet to come !! ( I can wish cant I :) )

I couldnt see them patching SSSE now, but in this one sided view, I think its great that the Sam Fans and its communitys still take interest in the game and in earnest only want to help keep it alive and help it survive !! And they also seem only to wish in making Sam a game that would rival, if not totally dominate any FPS game out there !! Yeaaaa Haaaaaaa !! Kudos for that !!:thumbs:

Lot of things have been said about SS. In the end it is money that is what creates, not only this game, but all games. More customers=more money=better quality=more satisfied customers.

So Abe and others that want a challenge: Get about 10 Million new SS players around the world, and let them pay for there copy of SS, then i am shure that this game will be updated and developed with all things that we not even can imagine.:hmmm:

Abe123 we have been playing this game since it first came out and supported it in every way possible here. GameMecca has some of the most loyal Serious Sam fans of any community. Your ideas are good ones but Sam is not setup to be used as a competitive FPS in league, it can be used, but it is not setup for that and as many people have already tried to point out to you, Croteam has moved on to other games. There is no money in it for them to go back and redo a version of the game that has run it's course. Sam is a awesome game that is a lot of fun, it comes with some problems, but is still playable so if you enjoy the game, then by all means continue to play it and enjoy it for what it is.

Also the next time you come here and are disrespectful to any of our members, I will show you the door. ;)

What you SS zealots should be doing is petitioning Croteam for the SS:SE source code so you can make the changes to the game yourself. It probably won't happen, but it's not unheard of.

I totally agree. Gosh, ID has released all the source up to Q3, surely croteam can give out SS:SE's by now.

How about instead of begging Croteam to improve the game, you use the SDK to implement whatever changes you need and create a competitive-type mod for SS:SE. Much like the Quake 3 community did when they made OSP.

I actually thought this thread was old and someone brought it back. Honestly, the game is dead and yet it is still playable to get the satisfaction if you decide to click the exe . After the years of playing the game, I was pissed off a lot when the game was in because of the problems but I think it was Jim thta mentioned the game cost 10/20 bucks. I have spend 50-60 on games and never got the time and fun on some of them as I did with Sam.

So the petition is a few years late and probably not worth considering. Move on as many have and pick up something newer and better. Hell, you may actually like something else.

Why a patch for SSSE and not et on atari?? Cuz sam is still played by a lot of peepz and a lot leave but return after a while. Allthough it was a funny joke the comment has no point at all. A lot of peepz just don't have the money to buy a nextgen pc, and that's why sam is the best FPSbridge between oldschool and NG

I don't c a patch comming indeed and I'm sure the petition won't work either, but why burning the roots in such a way?? Appearantly some want sam death, but last time I checked I didn't steal medicin from old ladies to fasten the progress ;)

I am never bothered by anyones English. I always deal with it and impressed of anyone who knows more then one language.

As far as saying Sam is dead, I refer to the actual amount of people that play. You say a lot of peeps but what do you consider a lot? Would you say 50-100-1000? I don't think any of thos numbers are a lot or worth dedicating any time or money to a patch. They should of patched it when the game was being played more but now it's way too late. Considering a patch was done lets say today, how many people would actually get back into it? That is the real question. Like I said I enjoy the game but the game is dead considering the amount of people playing it. What really has cut my playing down was all the aliases which just ruined the game with all the BS. There is so much more out there and I just got tired of the childish crap which is most likely why most others left. I now realize how much better there is out there regardless of enjoying SAM.

I understand that a forum leader want it updated and so the games wich are played, but this isn't the way :rolleyes:
