An official GM tournament was held and yes FS was the clear winner even though AI did not participate due to him being banned from GM. I got like 4th place i the tourney, but I think it was pretty lame. People used pups, spammed like crazy, and did practically anything to win. FS played fair and deserved to win.

How many of these threads are we we going to see? They should be deteted faster then they are posted. There is no best in this game and there is no way of who is better unless you are on a local lan and compete. The game has too many bugs to give anyone a true comparison. I have played some really good players and they are just that "good players." There are different styles that people play and that is what people should be judged from. I have never seen anyone win every game which would mean they are the best.

If anyone is still playing this game that amazes me. When i say playing I mean as their main game. This game can not be taken serious and the community is so small here it should be wiped off to save bandwidth. I have never played a game with so many pussies that change their name or are afraid to lose with their name showing. Worst all the bitching in the game is pathetic. I never see this in any other game that I played or play which is why I very rarely will play this game.

On the other hand, Ive played many games, with the same sort of bitching as sam, and i think that's what makes stick with sam.... Some little devil in my head says take a few days off, and then pm a few peeps for a game... And that works.. Or play with people you know in a private server... I tend to play sam now only in VIllains servers with other villains because i know i will have a great and fun game.... :)

whoahooh! after many months of absent just saw this topic, what timing heh!

Take no personal offence as what I’m about to say will be very controversial and upsetting to some and if u can't handle 'the truth' as to what i'm about to say then add me to your block list or skip this post!

I can concur that many of you's with your noobish skill-less status, will consider guys like Free Styler, Turbo Charger, Dangerous Dan, etc., great players coz U got owned playing against them at times and were perhaps dazzled with their performance compared to yours and witnessed them owning other noobs who to you were fine players. So to your standards they are the best!…True they are top players but not the best of the best players!...Guys like Chyliniak, Steve Teemu, Dick Steel, Titanium in their primes are and were the true greats that have owned countless times every single one of those names u all have mentioned with proven dominating screenshots and demos, many of which are/were at GZ forums back in the days when they were all very much active.

I had the pleasure of playing all these guys countless times including others from way back then to 2005 like: Empherion, TheMachine, Fastway, Hellirazor, TheUltimate Warrior, The Bone Collector, Blackwolf, Psycho Marz, Haze, C.h.e.o.p.o.s, Anis, Finnish Guy to name some and yes they are all awesome amazing kick ass players during their primes but not as deadly and dominating as rated below:

1) Steve Teemu
2) Dick Steel
3) Chyliniak
4) Titanium

Those four are the most dominating fraggers in Serious Sam history and considering how progressively good we all have gotten over time these guys would put old school legends like Bones, Dr. Moesier to shame with their godlike skills.

So the next question that some of you might be pondering is: ‘who the pvk are you Dialupkid' heh, that’s a question that will be unanswered for a very long time to come whether u can swallow it or not!! And no I don’t play with dialup, as this is just an online nick hehe!!!

P.S: I’m 99% certain that if Dangerous Dan, Turbo Charger had the ballz to come in this thread they too would agree with most of the players I mentioned above as the best of the best and as evident in the past they both have mentioned these players in their own personal Top 5 players list a year ago or so as I believe it was posted on this or GZ forums where similar topics were made.

X.P.S: Don’t count on a reply since it will be ineffective to debate over it especially with some of u’s on this forum who think your all that and much more in SS but truthfully weren’t all that compared to the best of the best mentioned and also against 'Mr. Alias' ME! blah!!! and besides the game is literally becoming deceased with never any real prize funds involved. I said what was needed to be said during the fun, taunting good times we all had with this game and that’s that.

Everyone has been posting the same stuff for the last 2 years, but I still like reading these threads. haha

I think Bones and Moerser were probably great players. It should be noted that they played for a very short time respectivley compared to most of us, so it's obvious they aren't going to have the same skills. I'm still amazed at the way the really old players played. Anyway, it's impossible to say who's the best.. The best players that I have played, all have routines and do the same moves that make it almost impossible to kill. That said, I don't actually really like playing them. haha If this was a more popular game, I'd rather choose the intermediate servers where it's more just random crazy fun.

P.S. I have not played this game in a very long time. I'm just lured to these forbidden threads! :) I broke the addiction. ;(

But saying that they own Dan and I cuz they take pics of it, and shows when things work out good, doens't really meen anything.. I never takes screenies, and if i do i keep it 4 myself... hehe see the difference? the last experience i had with the two of them was in a tourney where we went 3on3 in shotty and LT. dick,steve and I vs. Weblion fg and raven. they Are special.. I would never deny that!

the truth is that you can be great at the game, or you can have a life. very few people can do both. anyone can be really good at the game if they play 12 hours a day, every single day. i used to be guilty of that, and a lot of the others too.... the last time I attempted to play, the results were.... embarassing... :)

didnt anyone notice this with candy ass or is it just me? some player using just canons.. u pick the canon up to frag this canonplayer with it. when u see him u press fire.. but just when u gonna launch the player disapears from ur sight and u launch it straight up in the air. off course u had no idea candy ass was standing on ur head.. or u fire a grenade but u miss and it takes a bad bounce across the map..ending up landing on candy ass's head. the most weird things always happen when i play him. usually after such incidents u can read **ck j***s in console. i cant stop laughing playing with him. just great fun:)

I'm not defending Marz, you can dislike him all you want but that won't really change him. Kinda like Lyso, you can say you hate him all you want but until someone does something about it he's not going to go away. Thanks for agreeing with me on Lyso though BIGG, in all the years that I've played this game he has always been the bane of my virtual existance.

Everyone in ssam is pretty much cocky if they have played the game for over a year. However, as long as I"ve played this game I was never as cocky as you AI. Cockiness means nothing. It's what you perceive yourself to be, not what other people see you as. Honestly people will dislike you if you ACT and TALK like you are the best in the game and not play like you're the best.

I think it would be better if the good euro players stay over at their end of the sam spectrum (over at Gamezone with Nitro). That way we have a lot less compilcations.

Come on? Did you play vs Chyliniak since half of 2003? Nobody beated him since that yeah, and no he wasn't about leaving games. If Chyl suxs then Serious Sam never existed.

See, i know exactly what your saying about chyl, and how he is sneaky and the 1v1's are intense because they take so long, 1 hour for 25 frags. You me and a few others know what he is capable of.

I'm kinda shocked that I am nowhere on anyone's list. Not to say that I am as good as FS or TUS (even though I have beaten them both) and I''ve played Chyl on the Outlaws server. I think his defensive style of play can earn him alot of wins just by tiring the other player out, but if 2 players are constantly defensive in ssam the game never ends (taken from my 1v1 experience I had awhile ago). Basically both of you know where the other player is but if you start moving towards him the other player will know and act much faster and attack you.

In a 1v1 a single frag and a repeated instance of spwan frags can really give the opposing player a very high advantage. In Sam, playing DM is much less of a mental battle as it is a winning battle. You will try anything to win and eventually you end up pissing everyone off. This is why no one plays the game (along with the countless amount of bugs). It's not pro friendly if you are serious about playing competitively. Pretty much every other popular game on the market is competition friendly but the oldschool players dominate the servers. You have to understand how the pro player's mentality works. They think that one loss can cause them to lose their reputatoin and name. This is so untrue. I can't even begin to describe the matches I've lost to some noob (because he used pups and spammed) but at the same time I learned by losing. I learned what to avoid during confrontation with a pupper/spammer. I learned how to outthink and outplaye them, and I became a good player.

Everyone's beaten somebody at one point in their ssam career. That doesn't make them the best. Nothing ever will, because the game is not meant to test skill, it's meant to be fun. If you want to test your skill against some good gamers then pick a game that has a high reputation for being pro-friendly: Any Quake, UT2004, CS, DoD, BF2, PK, and many others.

EDIT: On my post referencing GameZone I meant THEIR euro players (since most of their members are euros), not the one's on GM.

uh 120 post... im not going to read them all, and i wont tell you who is the best. maybe someone said it before, but i will tell you my opinion. who is actually really best player in sam is very variable in time. for example: one day Hugs beat Cyborg, and another day Cyborg beat Hugs. there are many factors which has influence(tiredness...). but i believe there is one REALLY UNBEATABLE player just right now. dunno who it is, but tommorow unbeatable player will be someone else.

I started playing this game back in 2003 of January and I must say I have seen all sorts of talented kickass players since then. Going back to my active days, I used to think Dangerous Dan, Psycho Marz, TheBonecollector and my bro were the best v1.07 fraggers around as those four used to give me the most competition.

Anyways some players that really impressive me during my SS career in no order:

I can honestly say that chyliniak has grown to become one hell of a dominating player in the last 2 years. He never really played that great in v1.07 servers even when he was l33t especially in the games I was in but he amazed me in the v1.05 servers. Very deadly, fast and defensive style player, definitely top 10.

Turbo Charger: had one of the most fun times playing with. Always puts up a good fight and never found him to trash talk or leave when he’s loosing…Very competitive and all round great players.

Psycho marz: during his l33tness was one of the best dominating shotty players I have ever seen, his shotty skills were almost unmatched at that time! One of the past best players no doubt!

Freestyler: Never really impressed me that much as I never really found him that challenging even in his favorite map yodeller. However he had very nice tactics and his sniping was very impressive and still an amazing all round topnotch player to this day.

Titanium: probably the most dominating player in v1.07 and plays damn good in v1.05 too…his aim and reflexes were unmatched at times, super fast and super deadly especially with the shotty…if it wasn’t for his alias whoring he would easily be v1.07 best player.

Asian Invasion: Improved drastically and was very dominating at times and very fun to play with! Definitely top 10 player.

TheBonecollector: One of my all time favorite top 3 shotty players. I learned a lot from his style. Amazing and just plain deadly and fun to game with.

Dangerous Dan: Unbelievable player and probably the most fun and competitive player I have ever seen and faced. Very challenging at times especially in Fortress. However in Little Trouble that’s where he has trouble beating me ;) but in other maps he usually wins with close games. He has won more games with his tags on then the rest. Very fast and hard to frag at times and the most consistent player.

Fastway: Very fun and very competitive. Awesome all round player!

Nitrostatic: The most improved player I have ever seen.

I can not believe this thread is this long so I am going to get this off my chest.

Although I have not been playing SAM in awhile (maybe jump in on my laptop at work to kill 15 minutes) when I was playing I never saw many of these top lists players in games and I would play on all servers. So regardless of who any of you think is the best I for one feel if any of your choices use aliases in game they are not. Notice I did not accuse anyone there;) becaus ethey know who they are and deserve no respect for that. What's the point? You pick and choose games that you can win with players you can beat? Really where is the honor or how do you enjoy the game. You all know my opinion of this I am sure. Now I don't personaly care who thinks they are the best I for one do not think I am but honestly Many of your lists are laughable and being me I would like to see these people in game for one and play. I don't care how good any of you think you are I am not going to be owned by any of you. And most know my style which usually requires no tactics but to go straight up and slice your throat. Ofocurse you also have that little bug when you have to kill someone 2-3 times before they die but still I am not going to get owned. So everyone huddle up, take there who they think is best ass kissing lists and just play the stupid game. Maybe for once you can give people respectlike those who go into the game not to be king or claim god but to actually have fun. Wait, how about instead of kissing someones ass you can make a thread which means something like Who has the best clan that plays fair and respectable day after day and are always in the games with tags on like the Villains clan or saints clan. I swear I stopped playing this game not because it was not fun but becaus ethe new class of people playing that just ruins it for those trying to have fun. The bickering, harrassing comments under alias and chat rooms in the game just push people away. I for one enjoy playing a game with talented people in there that have there clan tag on. They are much more respectable then anyone who just plays the game and wins or loses. These are the people who deserve praise and respect not some jerkoof who can use multiple names as they can study opponents game and not allow the other to learn theirs. Play the f'ing game for fun because that is the sole purpose.

That's actually an anachronism because all time would imply the past, present, and future (unless of course you were referring to block time (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Block_time) in which case it wouldn't matter) and Dan doesn't play in the present (meaning presently). I never left any game I played with tag or without no matter. I remember I played with my tag on 90% of the time in 1.05 and like 1% in 1.07. And there was noone who could match me in random Outlaws games. My score was almost always like 35-1 or 35-4 while your skilled Gamemecca players had something like 32-28. I don't brag about my high ping. Let's say I was owning skilled players easily with 300 ping while they had around 100-150. And that's also the Serious Diff which I'm not used to. You're just another random weak trash. Go and get owned more.

Look as I said before in another post, I have played FG back then and never was impressed with his performance compared to better players like: Dangerous Dan and Titanium…Those two would own your FG or Anis’s ass any day of the year…My man Freestyler kicked and pwned the sh!t out of your cheating ass Anis in the last tournament played…your Anis just plain sucks and is highly over-rated…Most of U euros at game zone and other boards think FG is the best coz most of you euros suck ass yourself and is nowhere skilled or l33t like US North Americans ;)

anyways I hope u remember one game where my man Titanium posted a screenshot at Gamezone24 with perfect score of 20-0 with Finnish guy and Anis playing in fortress…ask Steve Teemu, Duke nukem about that game/screenshot…its still gotta be there after they upgraded their forums I hope… and Titanium did that with a 350+ping, shotty only!! ohhhhhh yeaaa suckaaaa! To be the best you should be able to adapt to all situations and conditions…so I’ll ask u these simple questions which I’m sure I wont get an answer from u but here goes:

-Can your FG play on the saints or outlaws server (1.07) without complaining about lag and still own on a regular basis or on any server for that matter?
-Can your FG play with 350++ ping and still own?
-Can your FG play on all maps and own?
-Can your FG play with no crosshair in first person with weapon model OFF and still own on a regular basis?
-Can your FG own with a Pistol only?

I highly doubt your FG or any other euro can do ALL of this…the only person(s) who can do all is and much more is Titanium, Dangerous Dan and maybe AI & Free Styler!

I thought I might add my 2 cents. I just have to wade through all the testosterone here. Ok made it:D Its just a game and if I have a to say who is the best player its the person that sticks the game out no matter what and maintains a good attitude. Someone who says "nice one" or "nice shot" to the guy that isnt doing well but HAD a good frag. Give me a player that has fun anyday. For example I enjoy fragging with The Dark Angel, I have never won a game against him unless he comes in REAL late but I enjoy it as he has an Awesome attitude while also being an excellent player. This can be said about alot of players that will never make the top ten list but in my mind they are truly THE BEST:thumbs: I would play spammers and puppers and have fun even if I lost than to play and maybe get lucky and win with the "elite" players. Take it for what its worth. If you have great skill maybe Ill see you in the servers sometimes, if you have good attitude Ill look forward to it. IMO you will never see a great player say lag, came in late, spawnkilled,etc. The ego stroking is what is hurting this game. If your good someone will tell you. :D

The players you mentioned. Anis was making fun of all 1.07 players in the tourney. He had fun and didn't want to win anyway. I didn't have prob playing 1vs1's with anis, these were tough matches but he has never got me :P. Still a kickass player and if you really wanted a good 1vs1 with him, I guess he would be a good match up for ya. Even thru that. FG lost 30/-1 to me in a 1vs1 but that won't change a fact hes a kickass player. I don't know how does he play now but he was pretty good in the past. You would have a prob winning FG in 1.05 and Fg would have a prob winning you in 1.07 (1vs1 that is). Ping is the main difference so I think It's impossible to judge which one of you is better.

In the past I probably would have but I find that if you give some room and allow peeps to say what they want to say, hopefully they get if off their chest and these things have a way of working themselves out faster. What will get someone in trouble is when someone continues to troll over and over or get abusive. Say what you have to say as long as it is within reason and then get over it. ;)

I go to a forum and at the least little sign of a angry word between members the thread either gets locked or disappears so I know how that feels and it sucks IMO and i'd hate to see GM be like that.

ah, teh drama. Notice how I said "big egos" and the biggest of them all came along. Chyl is undoubtedly one of the best. My fondest memory was of a tomb game where he was able to skillfully use all of the powerups and manage a perfect. There was plenty of crowing also the next day on the companion site, although i didn't see any mention of the pup usage. so ggz to you! :thumbs:

I put Turbo/No Fear there instead of you because he owned me hard back in the day...however I was nowhere as good as I am now which is one of the things when you talk about who is best that you have to put in perspective. When you first started playing sam or when you still were not that skilled in sam, you might have thought a certain player was goldlike when in raelity, now when you have much more skills, you would not make the same assesment. Asian, you know that you're my boy and always will be but the last time I had a one on one with you it was close to a tie. When I has 1 on 1s with people like Chyliniak and No Fear, I got owned hard, barely getting even a frag...granted it was a long time ago.

I would probably put Moerser on my list, if I ever played with him before this week because Cheops told me how godlike he was in Sam back in the day and never bragged but kept humble

I thought I might add my 2 cents. I just have to wade through all the testosterone here. Ok made it:D Its just a game and if I have a to say who is the best player its the person that sticks the game out no matter what and maintains a good attitude. Someone who says "nice one" or "nice shot" to the guy that isnt doing well but HAD a good frag. Give me a player that has fun anyday. For example I enjoy fragging with The Dark Angel, I have never won a game against him unless he comes in REAL late but I enjoy it as he has an Awesome attitude while also being an excellent player. This can be said about alot of players that will never make the top ten list but in my mind they are truly THE BEST:thumbs: I would play spammers and puppers and have fun even if I lost than to play and maybe get lucky and win with the "elite" players. Take it for what its worth. If you have great skill maybe Ill see you in the servers sometimes, if you have good attitude Ill look forward to it. IMO you will never see a great player say lag, came in late, spawnkilled,etc. The ego stroking is what is hurting this game. If your good someone will tell you. :D

What I got from the whole thing was 1) No one was best, 2) some of these so called "l33t players" never use the same name twice or play with their clan's tags anymore so you could not possibly have any idea who could be "The Best", 3) It is only a freaking game, being "The Best" even if it is only in your mind does not mean crapola in the real world 4) players need to STHU and play the game for fun and if you cannot do that, they move on to something else so you do not ruin it for someone else.

I think that sam has shaped me as a person because whenever I play I get a sense of pride at being able to beat almost any set of players that I'm up against. Pride can go a long way.
