I've never been a fan of Chappelle. There are very few comedians that actually make me laugh. My favorites have always been either excellent with improve like Robin Williams (a true genius), or ones that really make you think, like George Carlon, or are good story tellers like Richard Pryor. Chappelle is a hack that relies on shock value, which is amusing for about 30 seconds. Just my humble opinion though.

Well some of Chappelle's standup closely embodies the atmosphere of current modern and pop culture. He talks about current issues such as racism in a very non-conventional and controversial way. He himself has admitted his irresponsibility and that is part of the reason that he left the show and went to South Africa for a while.
