Cheops hooked me up with some sweet demos from back in the day.

Ah yes I love old demos. The player that brings back the fondest memory is probably Fetzer. He used to post here at GM rather infrequently but as those demos prove, he was a great player. He was one of the few I drew my inspiration from. I don't recall encountering him too many times in-game (unless he was aliasing) but his playing style is great and it's perhaps one of the reasons I play in 1st-person.

He was the only person who sent me demos without being directly asked to. He seemed like a very nice guy and most definitely a great player. Too bad he is no longer active here at GM or the Ssam community. Some may remember him as having the raunchy Fight Club signature bar with the popular, nihilistic statements made by Tyler Durden.

Fetzer was also very much into game movies and other gaming related stuff. If there were more members like him today I think GM would be a much more interesting place. He had a very progressive attitude towards ssam that most GM members now lack. Everyone that doesn't play or play rarely believe that ssam is a dead game when in fact it's really up to the players whether or not it's dead.

So everyone be more like Fetzer and less like Nitro. ;P

I don't know why people started to whine about pups and so on. It was great time from that , what I've seen. @ demos

Great fun, no whining , nothing - just playing the game.

These times should be back. Pups shouldn't be any problem.

Let's take off the rules like no spamm ( rofl ) no pups etc.

If you don't like it just do not play the game. Ppl play like they only want to.

These stupid rules from 1.05 and so on , make servers empty & stupid ppl which kick them all.

There should be only two rules : no trash & no typekills. That's all.

Yes both are real. You can tell by their playing styles, if you remember how Moerser and DAOC Ranger played

oh man there were like tons of demos...majority of them didnt get backed up...and many were deleted after watching...lots of very good ones too all gone sadly :(
