He's talking about these requirements, for those curious:

Minimum

Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, Vista
1.8 GHz processor
512 MB RAM
8GB available hard drive space
128MB video RAM or greater, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support
Sound card, speakers or headphones
56.6 Kbps Internet connection required

Recommended

3.0 GHz Intel or equivalent AMD processor or better
1GB RAM or better
8GB available hard drive space
256 MB Video RAM, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support (Nvidia 6800 or better)
Internet connection with Cable/DSL speeds [3]
Supreme Commander is designed to take advantage of the special features in Windows Vista and DirectX 10. All capabilities of the game, including the dual-monitor support, are still supported in the DirectX 9 version, although the DirectX 10 version might have improved graphical features.[4]

This is the first game that I know of that's stating that it's designed to take advantage of Vista and DX10. I'm gonna try and install vista on an extra HDD over the next few days and get this on it and see if I can notice any kind of differences.

Too bad... my pc can't handle it :( Some real trouble with over 200 units in action. Uhu, bummer...

I had fun with it, though I'm still not 100% sure how I was getting resources. The detail and graphics are outstanding, and zooming out is pretty cool. The coolest thing is, it supports 2 monitors, and you can split screen so that you have 1 screen showing a detailed view, and another showing the map of the whole region so you can watch it, or even zoom in on another region.

It did seem like fun and i'll probably put more time into it tonight.

Ran silky smooth on my machine.

For what I've seen in action (5fps or something like that) it's really awesome...

They kept all the goods from TA (Total Annihilation) and improved a lot of stuff!

Explosions are still an eyecandy!

What they did right this time is adding a story to it and the "starcraft" missionbriefing is saweet  (better well stolen than bad created :P)

They hold on to the massive battles which makes this game unique. Creating an army of few hundred units is just a matter of minutes with enough resources. The resources are also unlimited so you have to crush your opponent to gain victory.

For those who gonna play this game for the first time and never played TA some handy stuff, so this game won't get too overwhelming at first sight.

Regular RTS-tips

- First create a few massextractors and engerytowers and make sure you always have enough of these two (logical I know ^^). Just don't get too happy about what you have in stock, with negative numbers it's easily gone. So make the numbers green whatever the costs.
- Make always a nice mix of units, as easy as you can create groundunits the same story is for the airunits!
- Cannons, lasertowers, anti-air etc. on strategical points are awesome defense systems! (and mountains, valleys do really matter in this game for the range of weapons etc.)

Specified for Supreme to survive (yes I just saw little of the game, but I think they totally hold on to the TA principles on warfare):

- Always keep your unitbuilding on the max even when you're attacking, there is practically no limit of queing up units to build in a factory. A factory which isn't building is a nail in ur coffin :P. A handy button combination = shift and leftclick on the unit which you wanna build, this will immediatly will add five in row for building.
- Construction units can help factories to even build faster! (use the aid-button). USE THIS!
- Don't try to save a group of units, if you c that you've lost the battle don't look back at them (of course an uberunit is excluded from this rule).
- Don't make a stream of units from factory to battlefield, attack with at least 100 units at the same time. For a small base (mission one) 200.
- let a group of fighters (at least 30) patrol around your base
- Since a lot of units have a huge range, flanking the enemies base is often crucial for succes.
- Transport planes can pendel between 2 points so if you wanna transport more units then the craft can handle it will fly up and down to get them all to the desired point (select units and then rightclick on the transporter which u will give the command where to drop them).

Nice to know:

- pressing space gives you the ability to get a skyline view of the battlefield/battles
- selecting an unit and press Ctrl Z will select all units of the same type no matter where they are (very handy for planes to regroup)
- selecting a group and press Ctrl + a number will give this group that tag (as you all know :D)
- selecting 2 groups and doubleright click on what you will attack will make a coordinated attack, so the 2 groups will be attacking at the same time.

Negative:
- Sometimes hard to get an overview of the units/buildings so you need to zoom in really good to separate units.

So said enough about this great game, I now go back to my corner to cry:bawling:

I tried the demo and it was ok. I still decided to the get the full version because my friends told me to. Its a must have when your playing with a bunch of friends. I had so much fun that I dreamt about the game one night.

Just be sure that the person you play with on the internet has cable or better. DSL and lower= extreme lag.
