Actually, i'm not sure this can be called a music video anymore. Sure it started out that way, but somewhere along the line it took on a life of its own. Three-years-plus later (i started this one BEFORE Rocket Whore)... and all i've managed to finish is a bloody trailer! Why? That'll be self evident once you see it: Remember that every single camera and character movement on-screen is me, on my own, patiently draining my life away on my crummy, out-of-date Athlon's. (Say it with me now, "Geforce 2... onboard!") To say there is a lot of splicing and trickery on-screen is an understatement.

The full thing, as of now, is about 8 minutes. Quite frankly, i don't know if i'll ever finish it (look out for the older footage with bloody time stamps), and thus... you get this glorified teaser. While my technical skills are limited, the entire point of this thing is to make you LAUGH. There is not a frag to be found, just childish adolescence in all it's digital, manufactured glory!

Anyhoo, lemme know if it garners a chuckle. I need some serious motivation to finish the rest.

As it stands, though, I'm really proud of this little thing! [glances up from crotch] And the trailer, too...

You should definatly finish it! Although after this genious trailer, watch out for jokes which will fall flat since it's really hard to make one running gag so I hope you got a lot of funny ideas left :D

Awesome movie trailer Pathos! I can imagine how hard it can be to single-handedly control all three players. You could make scripts for certain movements and character actions but I am no good at that so you might have to consult an experienced coder.

As for the quality it seemed to turn out ok. Just one thing to remember is to disable interlacing when rendering your initial footage. When the image is drawn on your computer screen whether its CTR or LCD it is drawn all at once line by line so you have to enable the progressive scan option instead of interlaced format. This will make the distortion between fast cuts and fast movement disappear.

Thanks SO much, folks! [throws money at everybody] Your encouragement is gobsmacking and i will most definitely see my way towards finishing this (eventually).... really, cheers! I have stuck it up on YouTube as well, replete with the usual crappy quality so beloved of the site. This version is SLIGHTLY extended, with two extra shots towards the end (i wasn't completely happy with the flow of the initial release), so really no big deal.

And how much does Huggy rule? That model is just HILARIOUS! Pure quality and will most definitely be incorporated into the full release. I only wish i had it to begin with! It is just perfect for my needs. Huggy = legend.

Thanks SO much for clearing this up for me! I strived for hours to remove that distortion, my efforts primarily hampered because i simply did not know what to call the problem (i phrased it as, "those F*CKING lines again!"), and hence how to search for the remedy; as i mentioned initially, i am a relative beginner at this stuff. I should have simply asked YOU! After i read your post i fixed it in 10 seconds - D'oh! [slaps forehead]

Since your missive i recoded and re-linked that initial post, and thankfully the version most folks downloaded was of far better quality. I have also encoded a x264 "edition" (http://files.filefront.com/SeriousSam___Music_Video___HQ/;6980426;/fileinfo.html) which looks fantastic for coming in at only 9MB! (Using megui and avisynth.) Very happy with this as i now intend to recode Rocket Whore (long since unavailable), and eventually it's sequel (far easier to edit than the music video, so this will no doubt debut first).

Once again... thanks man! You and Hugs make my "most awesome people of the week" list, right next to Monica Bellucci (but she is always on that list, so don't let that worry you).

think i've seen well over 20 sam movies. some great, some less great. however there was always one movie that i never deleted. i can still watch it today. i think i speak for many people if i say rocketwhore is outstanding as an entertaining sam movie. hell i've even got it as mp4 in my phone to show friends and try them start with sam(which actually happened a few times). to see the complete movie of this latest one would be really great !!
