Opera is at it again with innovation. They have introduced another new feature that one ups the other browsers out there. SpeedDial offers a page with 9 previews of your favorite websites that is easy to configure, just drag and drop your bookmarks into the slots.

I'm not sure exactly how it works in Opera, but in IE7...

Setup:

Create a folder for all the favorites that you want. In my case I called it "morning" b/c I check them all each morning. Then fill the folder with your favorites.

Use:

Right click on that folder you created and click "Open In Tab Group". This will open up all of the tabs. From there, an icon appears between the "add favorite" button and the tabs. Click that and you'll see...

Mine can go past 9, though :P

A simple right click on any tab and you can select "Close other tabs" and you'll be back to regular browsing.

Probably a step or two more than what Opera does, but since I don't use this much anyways...i figure this is just as good ;)

If youmust the easiest way to do this is (I am referring to IE 7) is add multiple startup pages.

Internet explorer properties or internet options under tools
on the general tab you will notice your startup page address.

example www.msn.com (http://www.msn.com)

go there and click enter and under it type another address that you frequent. Do this to as many sites as you want to start up with.

When you start IE you will have each site started in a seperate tab.

THe only reason that I didn't suggest this is that I realized early on that when you want to load a browser real quick to go to google, it's a pain when you open IE and 10 pages have to load.

However, your option would definitely save a step!

This can not be possible. The only way is if the page is cached which canbe done in ie as well. The problem is that you will still need to refresh the page. IE on the other hand will decode things correctly. This has been the problem with other competing browsers. Things are not always decoded correctly because the website has been coded for a specific browser. I imagine this has gotten better but until it's 100% I see no resaon to use another browser. IE7 works fine and never had any problems with IE period. Once youhave everything configured on your system correctly no one should have a problem.

I had a really bad experience with IE6. Even though I was running Norton Anti-virus software I got hit hard with a major attack through IE6. In the end I must have had 4500 files on my computer that were generated by whatever it was that infected me (I knew what it was at the time, can't remember now). Nortons, Windows Defender, Adaware, and Spybot were useless at that point. I couldn't use IE6 because it was infected too and kept resetting my homepage. I finally installed Firefox and found a link on the Microsoft site to an online scanner. It worked thankfully, but in the process it killed 70% of my apps, including MS Office, all of my games, Paintshop Pro, and Nortons, lol. Since then I've only used Firefox, I don't use an antivirus program, and things have been fine. Regular sweeps with Windows Defender, Spybot, and Adaware have always shown a clean system. I monitor my system processes with Task Manager and the startup process with Windows Defender.

I use IE7 now for one thing, and one thing only. Updates. And that's only because Microsoft makes it painfully difficult to do an update with any browser but their own, the bastards.

I completely swear by Firefox. And while earlier versions of Firefox may not have handled some sites too well (mainly sites created with MS Frontpage because it is notorious for ignoring HTML standards), Firefox 2 is pretty much flawless.

BTW, my router provides every computer in my house with a hardware firewall, and I have installed Firefox on each computer. No problems for over a year now.

Anyway, to get back on topic, I find the Bookmarks menu to work quite nicely. It only appears when I click on it, it takes up very little space, and holds my favorites in a very neat little list. :)
