vid card slot

Having an issue with my 2 tv tuner cards. What I am wondering, do I have to have my Diamond 3870 in the first pci-e x16 slot, or could I move it to another, so that I could use my other pci slot?

The mobo I have is an Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe w/WiFi.


Another thing I might try is seeing if I could get another 1800 and put that in one of the pci-e slots. That 1800 is x1 speeds, could I put that in one of the x16 slots? According to the manual, with one vid card, the operating mode is as follows:

Port 1 - x16
Port 2 - x1
Port 3 - x16
port 4 - x1

If I could put my vid card in slot 3, I could use my 2 pci slots.

The manual doesn't say if I can put the vid card in a different slot.

Grimmy, you should be able to insert the video card into any one of the 4 slots. You also can install any pci express cards that are 1 x into any of the 16x slots. The platform you have has a lot of features and you can work it any way.

Sorry if you tried to get intouch this weekend. I have been sooo damn busy and my wife has not been doing so well.
