What are you watching, drawing, interested in lately (thats related to anime)

Currently watching:

GitS (Again, can't help it)
Lots of Miyazaki stuff, notably Howl's Moving Castle
Serial Experiments Lain (Talk about a brain frying anime)
Bit of Gunslinger Girl (Still a favorite)
Karas (The Prophecy or something, was good but felt like it was watching part 3 of a 5 part series...aka...not really sure what was going on)

Drawing:
I don't draw...but would like to
Trying to look for a cheap tablet to start playing around with (recommendations welcome)

Gotta love netflix insta-watch

Just saw Renaissance by Christian Volckman which I gotta say was impressive ina number of ways. First off the block and white artwork was amazing and the story holds its grip the whole way through. All in all 5 out of 5 stars

When I get bored of Hollywood flicks I like to watch the occasional anime film. I've recently seen:

Blood: The Last Vampire - Very short, but very well done in terms of presentation, but it could have used more of a back story. I guess that's why it became a show.

Ghost in the Shell - It's just a classic and it parallels some of my beliefs on life and existentialism.

Ghost in the Shell II: Innocence - Very beautiful imagery and it evokes an even greater sense of existentialism and the depravity of it all than the first. Both are very honest, but bleak.

There's tons of other good anime to be seen and hopefully I will be able to watch more of it before I go back to school. It's always a refreshing experience.

I bought the WACOM Bamboo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823100045) a while back but I didn't like how you had to hold the pen several inches away from the tablet to navigate your cursor and the sensitivity was a bit high. So I managed to resell it at a small loss.

I realize that it takes time getting used to, but I just prefer the mouse for navigation and I felt like I was wasting my money on something I would use only for drawing (which I don't do much of anyway). If you find the urge to draw, I would just use a pencil for sketching, then you can use ink to trace your pencil lines and just scan the inked copy and then color it in with Photoshop or something similar.

Here's what I managed to sketch with the WACOM tablet.

It's very rough and I traced the silhouette of a figure and then filled in the rest. You could probably do better. I've lost my small amount of figure drawing skills which sucks since it was about the only thing that I could actually draw fairly well.
