Does anyone know of a way I can retrieve my old emails in Outlook Express off one hard drive to another? I have installed a new hd as my bootable one, and made my old one a slave drive. When I access Outlook Express on the slave drive now, nothing shows up in my inbox. I know that they are still in tact but I can't find them. :WTF:

What I would do is make the HD with the e-mails the primary.
Pull the out save em to disk and swap the hd again.
That is the only way I can think of.

All your emails should be stored in a .pst file. Just copy it from your old HD to the new one and you should be good.

Are the emails stored in another file directory or something? When I open outlook express folder there is no file with that extension. I also did a search for *.pst and it returned nothing.

What OS are you running ? Outlook express doesn't use pst files.

If you are using 2K or Xp they are stored in c:\documents and settings\your account\local settings\application data\identities\some number\microsoft\outlook express\

W98 stores them under c:\windows\application data\identities\ yada yada :D

Forgot to add just copy that folder somewhere then when ready choose import messages in OE and choose your version then choose import mail from OE store directory and browse to folder. Have done it many times and it works fine. :D

Yeah, importing them is the best. It is a good thing to do to back it up on CD or something as well, so if the HD bites it, you can set up all your old addresses quickly, and completely.
