TO KEEP THE PING AS LOW AS POSSIBLE, LIMIT THE SERVER TO 5 PLAYERS OR LESS, THE PING FOR 5 PLAYERS IS USUALLY AROUND 140, BUT IT VARIES WITH THE CONNECTION OF THE OTHER PLAYERS PLAYING ON THE SERVER....

CHEERZ... :drink:

Yes.. if the server sucks, then limit to 5 players is good. But it's not that fun.

Ping is the time it takes to get a response back from the server. If you are on dsl, you may see some 60's and up. For dialup, perhaps 150+. The further away geographically, the longer it takes to get back a response and the higher the ping. That assumes the server can respond instantly. I believe that a lot of the latency we see is due to the way the server has to render scenes per multiple players. At some point it runs out of cpu, then gets out of sync with the clients, and then the rest of the game sucks, no matter who drops off...

I'm in the UK and my ping on all the servers hardly
ever gets below 250. You get kinda used to it after
a while though
