It looks like your GF2 Pro video card is going to be the hangup
I switched out my Geforce 2 card sometime last year. I forget why, but I am now using a ATI 9600 256mg AGP card.
I had it up and running and got booted from a multi-player game. I'll be playing the single-player for a bit till I figure out how to play. Not sure if I'll have any problems but the single-player seemed fine.
Off to update my rig stats.
LOL
This is from KPM a friend at Exodus. Hopefully it will help you guys out.
HERE IS AN EASY WAY TO PLAY COD Version 1.2 AND Version 1.3 WITHOUT HAVING TO REINSTALL IT EACH TIME !
================================================== ===
First, make sure you have CoD2 version 1.2 installed. If not, reinstall CoD2 and patch it to 1.2.
Browse to your "C:\Program Files" folder.
Create two folders there: "Activision12" and "Activision13".
Copy the folder called "Activision" into the folder you just made called "Activision12". (This is where your 1.2 version of CoD will be stored).
This will take 3.5 gigabytes of hard drive space. Lose the porn!
Close everything.
Now, install the 1.3 patch.
Go back to "C:\Program Files" and move (not copy) the folder "Activision" into the folder you made called "Activision 1.3"
You're done homey!
================================================== ===
When you want to play Version 1.3, browse to "Crogram Files\Activision13" and drag the folder "Activision" out of it.
Do the same if you want to play version 1.2, BUT! ... make sure you place the 1.3 version Activision folder back into "Activision13"
I tested it. I was able to join my favorite server in 1.3 and go to my favorite server in 1.2 and then go back to another server in 1.3 in about 1 minute. wootrock.gif
Oh... a quick sidenote: make sure you don;t have other games installed in the activision folder. If you do, there is a way around it.
Uh man I understand what you just said but my pc knowledge will scare the bejesus out of you lol .Shogun will tell you I know enough to be dangerous. Good thing he is coming over cause he knows how to do this stuff. Thanks man for the information .I was just about ready to uninstall 1.3.
Not positive, but I think if you just bought COD2 it comes with 1.2 installed. I think mine is 1.2 and I haven't updated/installed anything.
