    Pans Labyrinth

    Impressive, maybe a little cult.
The story: end of 1944 in the north of Spain end of their civil war. Little girl goes with her mother to join her step dad who's a captain in the army.
By accident the little girl opens another world, sort of Lord of the rings, great fxs. The real world is very nasty, cruelty is the right word, not for people with a weak stomach!

My girlfriend wanted to see this , but she only saw the half of it.

Yeah, I saw this in the theaters with my friend. I thought it was very good as well, although the war plot could've connected more with the fantasy plot.

I ended up renting it. Interesting movie. Quite violent for a "fantasy" film. It had some great visuals and some great acting as well.

Acting was good, graphics were incredible.

I couldn't stand the story, though.

I found myself constantly wanting to get back to the labyrinth and away from the spain story, which didn't interest me.

    I was pretty disappointed.

If they had edited (out) the wine bottle scene and the torture scenes, the film would of been appropriate for children to watch......it's OK to have a villian in a film, but you don't need graphic violence to get the point across. I think that's what hurt the film's popularity.

Movie was not made for children to watch btw.

My focus was the acting and the story about this young little girl who had an imagination and that to me was done nicely.
